always funny what comes up when you hit the end of the internet...
can anyone actually clarify this situation and how it went down? did freeskier claim to be coming out with a new mag but just keep their name and ditch the old format?

New teen ski magazine to launch
Denver Business Journal
Storm Mountain Publishing Company, parent of Freeskier Magazine, Freeskier.com and Fantasy Freeride League, is launching a national ski title exclusively for the teen market.
Storm Mountain, based in Boulder, said the new magazine will target skiers ages 12-18 and focus on editorial relevant to the youth market. The magazine said its production will "thrive on a raw, edgy look and feel, breaking traditional publishing standards with each issue."
Freeskier's Matt Harvey will serve as the editor of the new magazine and Web site. Harvey is best known for founding the popular Web site Newschoolers.com and for re-launching Freeskier.com.
The new magazine will compliment Freeskier, which targets skiers ages 18-30 and employs more diverse editorial. Freeskier describes its editorial content ranging from the terrain park to the big-mountain scene to the bar.
