Is it time for Skiing and Snowboarding to Merge

Is it time? Do you think it is time? I'm not talking about snowboard companies makin skis, boots and bindings like rossi and atomic. I'm talkin bout clothin/goggle companies like Unriders, Burton, Anon, Isis making up ski teams without having to change anything to there companies other that advertisements, more production, and ski comps. Skiing gear has never been cool up until the last few years. My mom just busted out this tight blue and hot pink one piece the other day. Whats that all about The only cool prodominately ski clothing companies out there are Orage and Siver. I wanna here your thoughts because this is a big isue that is soon goona be talked about
Peace

They can have an influence, but I don't see snowboarding companies really focusing on skiing.

Skiing is never a sport, but a lifestyle.
Some people question 'why' and wonder 'how'. They just can't seem to grasp 'how' or 'why' we do what we do. Others don't understand, they just continue to wonder. The truth of the mater is that we can't explain it either. All we can say is 'snow so deep you sink up to your hips', 'hits so big you can't see the landing', 'rails with all kinds of bends and kinks', 'natural cliffs and tree runs that you can't explain with any other word than sick' and still they don't understand what we do. On a board or skiis, it is the same. A feeling of freedom and expression in a way so uncommon. But still, they don't understand....
Megs, a good friend of mine says: 'Feel the fear, and do it anyway.' When you do, than you will understand.'

what i'm thinking will happen is that there will be more new outerwear and clothing companies sprouting up that are just like orage and siver. nomics, sublux, those are a few of what are coming out already, right now they are just like...street wear but who knows if a new outwear company will come out, i'm pretty sure there will be.

Seriously those boarder companies you named off have too much pride in their sports 'individuality' to do something like that. Our only answer is to wear the gear Orage and Siver come out with, or just wear the boarder gear (that's what I do) No need to consolidate goggle companies, most of them started out with skiing anyway, and the pride in individuality thing comes up again with the other companies that didn't. We just need to saturate the market with our own companies, we'd probably end up wearing basically the same stuff Sessions, Burton, and anyone else is making anyway...

I know that the riders are ready for it, but you have all supported my thought that the market isn't ready for it. companies are starting...ie anon, analog, ect..., but the people who actualy buy stuff are still too hard headed to realize that it will eventualy happen.........in my opinion.

i think it needs to happen just to shut all the people up that are still biased against one or the other. isn't there already a rail jam comp that is for both skiers and sb's?

I know snowboarders that wear ski jackets. I wear snowboard pants. I really think that a majority of the people dont really give a shit.

Snowboarding companies are never going to want to do that because the market in snowboarding products is already large enough in itself. Trying to sell stuff to skiers would just be extra work and even though it may make profit it wouldnt be enough to take the time and merge a whole other industry.

^lol, true
And in response to the original post...
Cool ski clothing companies? Uh... no.
And if any snowboard company every embraced skiing (huggy huggies for everybody!) I doubt that would go over with any of their snowboarding customers. And if a snowboard company embraced skiing for whatever bullshit reason you think they should, damm sure, I'd never buy shit from their flakey asses.

mission six is a really cool company, that would be sick if they eventuly were giving skiers sponsorship.
