Where's you facts?

If you actually read tech blogs, you'd know that verizon won't have the iphone (if they get it) until june because thats when att and verizon will be releasing their new "4g" networks and they'll operate on a different system than the current 3g, att and verizon currently use different systems with their 3g but with the new 4g they will be the same and apple will have a new iphone to release on att and will, in theory, work on verizon, if verizon can get it.

But, verizon might not even want the iphone anymore. android is blowing up and selling really well and isn't going to stop growing. Verizon will most likely stick with the android phones and give apple the finger.

Yeah there was speculation/damn fucking near confirmed rumors.

Today makes it official. Although lets be fair to Apple, the only reason they are doing it is because no ones switching over to at&t. so they hop on to the next network that can support it........

Did you know that it's the iPhone that makes the ATT network suck? The iPhone gets terrible service and the battery is the worst ever. If Verizon would have but the iPhone on their network back when AT&T did their network would have crashed harder then AT&T's did. AT&T has taken the heat for their network instead of Apple taking what was really due to them. So it's the iPhone that actually sucks.

just because its apple? no mater what any retard (you for example) says about droids, iphone will reign supreme for a long time to come. apple products are sooo much better. i played with my droid2 and my buddys iphone to compare and the iphone is a much better phone

Because people will always like iphones more because its apple and its the cool fucking thing to have. Play with an incredible, evo or droid x, droid 1 or 2 aren't good examples, the keyboard is awkward, screen its small, etc. iphones are sick, but they aren't any better than an incredible or droid x. i know people with every droid and with iphones, sure iphones are pretty and have itunes but they are less functional than a droid x or incredible.

Droids = iPhones

other than your opinion about the phones which is subjective, nothing you said is true.

android (the OS) is destroying iPhones (iOS) in what's being bought right now. literally destroying it. I gave a presentation on market share and capabilities of android and flash to my companies execs about 6 months ago and they are FINALLY starting to get it. alot of the companies i'm dealing with and friends are working for are all focusing development on android first, iOS (mainly iPad actually) second.

regardless, i have an iPhone 3GS solely for dev testing since they allow flash to be compiled for it again now thanks to the recant of 3.3.1 but my primary phone is a rooted EVO and it puts everything ive ever used to shame except for the screen, my girlfriends Fascinate has the most legit screen i've ever seen, sans "retina display" which is such bullshit. looks good though. but stupid name.

meh, I'll take my rooted EVO over an iphone any day of the week. (I have both.) Don't get me wrong, the iPhone is a nice piece of equipment, but droid OS is the future. Open sourced...what?

This is sure to wreck AT&T though. Loss of iphone exclusivity will ultimately lead to a mass exodus of a good chunk of their subscriber base. This is purely speculation, but we all know that AT&T isn't the greatest from a network standpoint, and the iphone was the only thing keeping them going.

hence why they picked up like 7 or 8 new android phones over the next 6 months as well as early adoption of a few WP7 phones (windows phone 7)

theyll be fine, but their network here in nyc will continue to suck so im solid with my evo

none of those phones are going to draw in the minions like the iphone did. once all of the apple fan boys can get the device on another network (without having to be tech savvy, jailbreaking the phone, and voiding any warranty), I'll bet you'll see them fall in the ranks.

Done anything cool with your evo? Rooted? Flashed any roms, kernals, etc.?

Now, we’re thinking the same thing as you, where is the disconnect (pun intended)?

you def have a point, its just my cynicism that wants all the 'omg i need an iphone' people to not jump ship to verizon when it does happen. will a few? of course, but honestly, even just reading my god damn news feed on fb i can see girls, even the 'trendy' ones, being like, omg my droid x is so sick, and wow my incredible is awesome, so i do believe market penetration is way deeper than we all think with the droid campaign from verizon and the evo campaign from sprint, not to mention the galaxy s line and most companies actually heavily advertising those now too

as for my phone - was running cyanogen for a while but just threw fresh 3.3 on there today, i just moved into a new apt and no internet til they install next wednesday so needed the latest wifi tether app to run with my 4g connection (which is totally badass btw)

i have setcpu running for cpu underclocking management which is killer for battery usage but i havent installed any custom kernels so im not fucking with overclocking....yet :)

AT&T provides great service, it really depends on where you are. For example, I live in California and everyone with Verizon is bitching about how shitty it is, while I never have any trouble with AT&T. When I went to the Northeast this summer I never noticed anything wrong with AT&T, but I wasn't talking on the phone a whole lot anyways.

Truth.  That's why I've switched providers as I've moved all over the world.  I've used all of them extensively....they all suck and are awesome depending on where you are.  To say XXX sucks is close minded.  Verizon used to blow asshole in Colorado Springs, now they have a tower here.  AT&T and Verizon are both great here now.

I live in NYC and let me tell you, AT&T sucks. Ive had it for years and for 4 years I had a T-Mobile blackberry from my job and that had better service than AT&T. But I'd be willing to bet T-Mobile probably sucks anywhere outside of this area.

id chose the iphone over the droid or htc, although the droid and htc may have better "stats". example:

the droid/htc are like a 700hp mustang, yeah they may have 200 more hp than the 911 turbo(iphone) but its the way the porsche uses the power to be a better overall car.

that may not make sense, but it does in my mind hahaha
