how long am i out for? its a shoulder stabilization, nothing major. how long till i regain full use of my arm/shoulder? and what should i do in my downtime?
lol these are questions you should be asking your surgeon, not ns. Even if there was a orthopedic surgeon on ns, he wouldn't be able to give you an accurate answer to your questions without proper diagnostic tests.
i had a torn labrum repaired and i was out for 4 months (no physical activity) with 6 weeks in an immobilizer sling and mad physical therapy. good luck!
I'm getting that this spring so I'll be good in time for ski season. Not too stoked on the surgery and the recovery time, but I'm super stoked for it to be better. I've been putting it off for too long.
I tore my labrum all the way around the socket, partially tore some other ligament, and chipped the bone. Had surgery a little under a year and a half ago. I was pole vaulting in 6 months. However, the first few weeks you will want to kill yourself. You'll have one arm. Shoulder surgery is no fun and your shoulder will probably never be back to completely normal. Good luck dude, and make sure you do everything to a T that they tell you to do in physical therapy.
good luck man...just don't expect your shoulder to be 100% fixed after the surgery. Even after completing all my physio and continuing to exercise, my shoulder still pops out from time to time and is nowhere near good. My doc said that it would be completely fixed after the surgery and now she says this is as good as my shoulder will ever be. Shoulders suck haha
