this has been talked about for a while now. and last i saw it was supposed to be over a grand. like 1200 or something. which eliminates any sort of action sports use because not many people can afford to take a hit to a $1200+ lens.

I don't really understand it, why would they stop producing the 15mm f2.8 for this? They should have kept that and then made a crop sensor fisheye, like the excellent Nikkor 10.5 f2.8

You're not going to get much isolation shooting that wide anyway, so 2.8 would really only give you a speed advantage.

That's what I mean. If I'm going to be paying $1000+ for a fisheye/wide angle I would want it to be pretty quick.

Looks cool but i dunno, for a fisheye i'd rather just have the 2.8 with a fixed focal length. Personal opinion. also i think i read somewhere it was going to retail at $1300 or something like that
