just watched both of those, it blew my mind i wish i could watch it on a big screen like the recent premieres. makes me think of the old times :/ when i started skiing and it was all new to me
he is by no means a top back country skier. just some names that are better than him at back country Dane, Sean, Mike H, Bibby, pretty much every single person from MSP
hell yeah, one of the best segments ever and it will continue to hold up forever unlike a lot of iconic segments.
the shot from the lip on the switch 9 at chad's is one of the best shots ever and is so beautiful but gnarly at the same time. and the full shot of him stomping then looking back up at the gap as he turns out gives me goosebumps every time, and probably always will
also, tanner used to be arguably the best at rails. understandably he's moved away from them but to say "tanner isnt good at rails" is stupid, of course he's not pushing the envelope on them nowadays, would you? in 2002-2004ish he was the best. first dude to do legit 2s on, his sw4 to 2 in happy dayz, etc etc. dude is insane. great thread
As someone who has been into this sport for the long hall, I would have to say that Tanner is probably the greatest of all time. He basically invented style (along with JF, Mickael, Pep, Jon). He was the most progressive skier in the earlier years of this sport, hands down. Tanners segment in 1242 changed the industry when it came out, no one had style like that. He definitely led the charge.
