I'm asking this so i dont have to go the store and ask. I don't want to drive 20 minutes for them to tell me that i can't get a replacement. Yafeelme?

oh boo hoo 20 min, it takes me longer to get into town, are you really that lazy?

1.  If it's less then a year old (date of purchase) they will replace it with a refurbished device at no cost.

2.  If it is more then a year old and depending on your monthly rate plan you may be able to upgrade your device at the "discounted" price. 

3.  It's more then a year old and no upgrade...see if you have another family member on your plan that has a upgrade and you can take their upgrade.  Then once it's time for that family member to get a phone they can take yours.  You pretty much flop upgrade dates.  (assuming your on a family plan).

Make sure there is no physical or water damage.  To see if there is water damage, take off the back plate and under the battery there is a white square, if it's pink or red, its been wet.  Then it will not be replaced under warranty. 

Don't go to a store, then cannot replace the device in store for you.  They either have to mail it to you or you have to be a lucky city that has a AT&T Device Support Center.  Those are the only two ways you can get a free replacement if you are still under warranty.

That's AT&T Warranty Support.  They will be more helpful then a retail store.  The retail store will just have you call the number I listed.
