What editing softwares do the pros use?

I'm just curious. I always see Mac's so I'm assuming Final Cut but I don't know

Like For movies? or for tv shows?
Movies is mainly Avid
and TV shows use Final cut
but both run on macs so thats why you always see macs

windows movie maker, imovie, ya know, the legit stuff.




but seriously, the kid above me basically sums it up. avid for higher budget hollywood films, FCP for the small companies.

definately avid for movies

but if you get into the crazy shit they just create their own software im pretty sure

I'm on premiere + after effects until I get a 15" MBP in 2013 lol
then I'm switching to final cut pro + after effects

You'd be surprised how many large post houses use FCP. From national TV ads to hollywood films.

I've been using FCP for the last year, and recently starting using the Premiere demo and am really liking it. It's a lot faster, I never get that "frames were dropped" during playback message that I get in FCP and it supports native DSLR Footage! In my opinion, FCP has some catching up to do...

I loved it until I got a t2i. Vegas is just too slow. It so amazing with AE for SD editing, but Premiere with AE is where its at for HD

I know the daily show uses premiere+AE among other programs

FCP and avid are the big players but ive heard that cs5 has helped adobes professional market share

Yup. Avid has long been considered the industry standard, but that's changing pretty quick.

Also, Premiere CS5 is currently much better than FCP. Once FCP updates, it's going to leapfrog CS5 though (hopefully).
