Oregon Jumps Boise State in the poll !

after an amazing win over Stanford, Oregon has moved from 4th to 3rd in the nation(AP poll) this is great for my team and a statement to the fact that Boise state is a good team but plays in a weak conference. don't get me wrong i don't want to Se my ducks matched up with them. but i had to jump for joy seeing the progress the ducks have made this year. and i Believe when the BCS ranking on computers comes into play. it will put Boise State at 4th or even lower.
all the ducks got to do now is win!

thoughts, rants, cheers, please.

First off, buffs suck.


Second, ducks are fucking good, truth.

Third, boise state is overrated. They beat oregon state, weew! not, beavers suck.

I hope the BCS finally puts boise against a hard team this year in a bowl game and they get stomped.

meh, im not denying oregon has a good team and a much stronger schedule than Boise. but i still think that on a neutral field boise would beat oregon.

I would really love to see oregon and boise state play in the Rose Bowl, granted it would suck because i've been an oregon fan since i could walk and whenever it comes down to games between the two I'm torn.  I still think i'd root for Oregon.

stomp? please, do you watch any games beside oregon games?


first im not sure how many kids from last year are still on oregon's team(obviously legarret Blount and jerimiah masoli are gone) but oregon did not stomp boise last year and boise's team is basically intact minus kyle wilson.

and im not taking anything from Oregon, i just think Boise is better. but that game on saturday might have been the best college football game ive watched since the 2007 fiesta bowl or the 2008 sugar bowl(well it was probably not better game but im a Ute fan so that win was special)

My opinion: Boise is one of the best, if not the best, team in one game scenarios. They always win their bowl game after having like 3 weeks off before. This gives their great staff time to develop a specific play to knock off whoever they are playing. I love watching them "upset" Oklahoma and big conference schools. However, I don't know if they can win constantly in a big conference with big games more often.
Disclaimer: I hope to see Boise win the BCS championship

the most Boise would get would be the rose bowl... and thats iffy. the only good thing about the broncos being so good is that it will shake up how the bcs works and push for a playoff

What's this talk of Boise in the Rose Bowl? Definitely not going to happen if there is an undefeated Big Ten team or even a one loss Big Ten team. Iowa, Michigan St, and Michigan if they are one loss or even undefeated they would be placed in the Rose Bowl before Boise. Same goes for the Pac 10 teams...there's too much tradition in the Rose Bowl (Big 10 vs Pac 10) to pass up an undefeated or 1 loss from these conferences. However, I would like to see Boise matched up with someone other than TCU in a BCS bowl, maybe the Fiesta bowl vs Nebraska?

IMO bsu is a damn good team. I live in the boise area, so i catch the blunt of drama whenever they move up or down in the polls. I won't lie, it's slightly annoying to hear all the peoples bitchin' when they barely moved in the polls. By the end of the season, there won't be many teams that are undefeated, but in that list will definitely be BSU, granted they have a hella easy schedule (wac) other than that, i think they will go far, and the move to the Mountain West will definitely affect them as a team, and as a school. As it will also show anyone that has negative thoughts about BSU what they really are about..
I know that is a pretty useless reply, but i just thought i'd share my opinion..!

really the thing for me with boise is this. yeah they are good, they are very good. but if put in the SEC or Big 12 or even Pac 10 there is no way they would go undefeated. they simply just dont play the competition as everyone knows.

but that said, i really hope somehow they make it to the BCS title game and win. to me its the utlimate fuck you to the BCS system that is so corrupted and bullshit. we need a playoff system. like now. screw the big east, the big east is garbage and should have the automatic qualifier revoked and give it to the MWC if they add Boise, nevada, fresno state and say Utah State.  Even without BYU and Utah that is still a much stronger conference than the Big East.

guess what? BCS polls are bullshit.

an reason why: University of Wisconsin-Madison always posts good records, but yet we always get snubbed in the BCS standings and that pretty much kills any chance of going to the rose bowl, etc. and we have to accept the smaller, not as important bowl games.

Oregon is a damn good team. Boise is a damn good team. Ohio State is a damn good team.

Alabama is on another level.

Boise got fucked by Va Tech blowing chunks against JMU. Let's play the season out before we freak out.

The unique thing about Oregon is how fast their tempo is...they usually snap the ball with ~25 seconds left on the play clock which is ridiculous. It wears you out physically and they just pound teams in the second half.

I love UW as much as the next guy, but we do have the tendancy to choke on not-so-big games, and I cannt remember the last time we won the big ten (although hopefully it will be this year!)  But I am pretty sure that the last time we did win the Big Ten, we got a Rose Bowl birth... Was that in 96?  No clue

But then we go to small bowl games against decent opponents (FL, Miami) and fucking trash 'em.  So maybe we deserve a a rose bowl, i dunno

lol @ people that think Wisconsin has a legitimate chance in the Big 10 this year. I'm sorry, but you guys are on the second tier in the conference.

It's really too bad Boise St isn't going to the Pac 10, because with Utah leaving the MWC, moving there isn't really a huge improvement from the WAC, especially when a third of the WAC is coming along. The only new challenge will be TCU. I'm in agreement that the Big East needs their automatic bid taken away, they are terrible year in and year out (case and point Cincy getting trashed by FL last year).

Your right because the broncos have never played a difficult bowl game. Are you seriously saying BSU has never played a tough bowl game, TCU was arguably the best team in the nation last year. I dont love BSU but i wont say they are overrated until they get beat.

The reason we so much need a playoff system.

If we have these teams: Alabama, OSU, Oregon, Boise, TCU, Nebraska, Michigan St, undefeated at the end of this year (which can definitely happen), what the heck is the BCS going to do? Obviously Alabama is in a league of their own, but the rest of the teams all deserve a shot at the NC (obviously I'm hoping (and assuming) that OSU would get it, since we are 2nd) but to have that many undefeated teams there is no way in knowing who is the best in the country without a playoff. BCS sucks.

1) Let me check the books but haven't the ducks lost to BSU the last couple times they have played them?

2) It's still hard to keep winning over and over and over again, granted they aren't playing Ohio State or Bama but they have never really had a chance to either. They have tried to strengthen their schedule thus the move to the new conference. BSU has one thing behind them, they pull wins, game after game, season after season they keep winning, frankly whoever who you are playing, consistently winning isn't easy by any means.

3) You are one of those egotistical assholes that says before the game, oh BSU has no chance against whatever school they are seeing in the bowl game, then after they win say "oh they let them win" or "oh that team they played was shitty" If the team they played was shitty they wouldn't be in the fucking bowl game and no team throws a bowl game, that is udder bullshit.

You are the most informed poster in this thread so far. I think the ideal way Boise can make it to the championship is to play better out of conference teams (which wasn't their fault this year) and win out in their weak conference. I doubt they can move conferences in the near future because they were just shaken up last year, so I can't see them joining a big conference soon. The Big East is losing credibility fast though.
