i used a giro shiv last season, it was so light and nice. but unforunatly when i took it to hood this summer i may have damaged it. after landing on my face a couple of times doing rode 5's i dented the front of the helmet pretty badly in about 3 places, the side of the helmet is starting to chip too.
currently for next season i'm using a POC receptor bug, unforuntaly a large fits smaller than a large giro shiv, but i took out the padding and substitueded it with a hat, so it works out great.
this is my statements
(if you get a severe injury due to helmet choice, please dont blame me)
I have ridden in an R.E.D. Hi-Fi for years, but I am looking at POC for a new helmet. They are very comfortable and high quality. I tried some on today, just make sure you size up one as they are kind of small :)
I love my k2 rant, I think it's a snowboard helmet but whatever. it fits deeper on the back of your head and is the only helmet I have found to stay in place in the air.
