haha ! I did this in engelberg, Laub, the bottom of it, survived the run, then there was a fence, and hence fence posts somewhere under there, I ate shit, my snowboarding buddy couldnt snowboard for the reason of the season.
I also remembering loosing skis, like ohh yeah I forgot to tighten my bindings this trip, ski goes zoom, the cord pulls you, and you eat shit. . So tightening up the bindings would be needed every few runs ;D
I remember the scarpa boots coming out, insane how much control you could have with the NTN, but yoou would warranty the boots constantly, and the "neutral" stance had a race stance, so just standing chilling would be more demanding, then skiiing!
I miss the powder, and groomer on telemark, I do not miss ice & snow piles in steep narrow runs.

JJ's I got a spring last seasons deal on. I tuned them up sweet.
They did not turn me into T-Hall. A bit disappointed with them. Just too much tail tip and rocker. Darn elf shoes.
I did learn how to rip some carves on the groomers though. Tips and tails flapping be darned.
Now I have some Candide 4.0's to try for powder. Somehow I don't think I'll be like Candide either! ;-)

4s are a really sick ski. suuuuper fun. same with the 3s. never rode the 2 or 1.....but yeah candide definitely runs a special set with some metal. I think he rides the 5s with a 4.0 topsheet too.

Where did you hear about candide using non-stock skis? Seems odd as they are his pro model. My old 3.0s had a titanal topsheet. Now that I think of it i'm pretty sure my 19/20 4.0s have metal.

My first pair of on3p, gotto say damn, shipped wed, arrived overseas friday?!
Bases were 100% perfect checking with a trubar, weights are within 12 grams, impressed on a custom ski. Happy given its my most expensive ski.... ever
Detune is for real, should be interesting for our often icy stufff :D
Just gotto figure out color bindings and type to go on. Was thinking white or gold pivots, allthough looking at colors, the marker 18 pro jester in green will probably also look good.

Picked up a pair of these yesterday. Needed a touring pole and really like that the extended grip on these is clear so I can use them as an every day pole. Plus a 2 year warranty on a pole is pretty damn good.
A new kitchen knife and a trip to urgent care when I sliced the tip of my pinky finger off. Sharp as fuck tho and my eyes don't water when I cut onions now.
I got these because I thought I was hardcore and needed a stiff telemark boot and most places were out of stock of the softer version.
They are real stiff.
My feet are really narrow and I definitely need some boot work.
I still kinda suck at telemark.
But goddamn NTN is so much better than 75mm, it's so great to actually feel like I'm directly attached to the ski.
Also just a warning if you get booster straps and start skiing with a lurk instead of ski poles you may need to start wearing a snorkel because you will be at risk of drowning in potential mates every time you ski under the lift.

Oh yeah, I've got big plans to steal some bamboo from patrol. Regarding the flex, I'll see, I went with the stiff one cause my alpine boots are also stiff ass scarpas, so I figure'd they'd ride fairly similar. Real hyped to try the NTN stuff, did one lap on a demo pair last year and was hooked.

I probably could have got away with the softer ones because my Telemark style is a lot less aggressive than alpine and I'm kinda wishing that I had the ability to run a telemark tech setup, but the touring mode on Outlaws is very familiar.
My friend has the TX Pro because he wanted to use pin bindings as well and he is similar weight to me, stronger, and can still ride them very aggressively. The important thing about NTN is that the binding and boot act as a unit and it's important to tune the binding stiffness accordingly, because of this it feels pretty weird for us to swap skis without drastically changing the spring preload, more-so than when we were both running 75mm setups.

What bindings are you going with?
I learned tele on some T1s, and they felt pretty similar to the TX Pro I rode at a demo last year. If these are too stiff, I'll snag a pair of Pros. Going to be rocking some outlaws!

Hell yeah, Outlaws are bomber. I got brakes for them and thought I'd be getting caught up on them when turning, but they really aren't noticeable, and it's so much less stressful putting them on on top of high consequence stuff. I nearly lost a ski when it got away from me when I was clipping into my bindings when I had AXL's, went halfway down the ridge at Bridger before launching off a cliff and lawn-darting to a stop. Does take a little bit of extra finesse to step into the mechanism with the brakes installed though.

So I'd got one of those women's POC spine protector vests, and when it arrived, I was real disappointed.
It doesn't cover my lower spine right above my waist. That's my most vulnerable spot cuz when I'm snowskating, that's where the board would hit me when I fall off. Hell, half my spine is still exposed.
Besides, idk what I was thinking getting a woman's size when I'm out there deadlifting dunnage and steel all day. Sigh, my goretex barbie dreams are crushed.
It wore all slutty like a bra that's too small, and nobody wants to ski in a bra that's too small. I don't really know anyone shorter than 5'2 to give it to. Maybe a little kid or something.
Well, I went ahead and copped a black Friday men's L Dainese back protector, and I feel much better about it. No kid's toy back protectors here. I kinda feel like a badass in it.
