hestra, pow, kinko, ortovox and every other brand I tried so far are utter trash if you work with ropes. I ll glue an extra thick layer of leather on the palm to prevent that like usual. man skiing is an expensive hobby. at least I don t need a season pass this year.

Why such long screws? 13cm and 16cm see 90% of climbing use, with the remaining 10% being divided between 10cm and the very occasional 19cm. In general the longer screws are useful for V threads and not much else. I've used a few 19cm screws when protecting super chandeliered ice, or in the spring when conditions get soft. If you're just starting a rack of screws, return these and buy 16cm and 13cm. Most climbers will carry a single 19cm or 22cm on multi-pitch for making V threads and that's it.
I've never used a single 22cm screw, and I've climbed ice very extensively. It's worth noting that the thread length (what actually holds) on all of the screws is the same, with the exception of the 10cm. The longer screws are just for getting to the "good" ice through whatever is on the surface. If the ice is solid then put in a 13cm as it is just as good as a 16cm or even a 22cm. You will pump out needlessly placing a longer screw in good conditions. Plus, lots of ice is not thick enough to accommodate longer screws.

I do own a 13s and 16s already. I needed a new 19 because I lost my other one. The 22s are not for me. I use the 19s much more often than 10s especially in spring and summer to get to the good ice like you said. Other than that I don t bring them out regularly. I will carry the 19s mostly with me when I am on glaciers later in the year.

Have that exact rig. Things been my gravel grinder, CX racer, commuter and trainer bike. The hatchet does it all!
205cm. $30. Prob overpaid, but tryin to get weird on some groomer days. Gonna be a project to recondition these. Anyone got suggestions for cheap bindings with narrow brake?
Needed something with MIPS that was a bit more lowprofile and a bit more compatible with other goggles/frames. I like the POC Obex Spin but having it in its largest size, its like a fighter pilot helmet and really only compatible with POC frames and their MIPS liner fits really weird and has odd pressure points. Started getting headaches halfway through my ski days which sucked.
Also hyped on having some new layers to stay warm and dry.

Like I said I'm not gonna buy the ascendants. Just gonna buy New liners to my old ass Full tilt Booters and do touring stuff with them cause the Salomons sold out.

it's a panasonic gx85. so far i've been borrowing other people's cameras for class projects, finally decided to sack up and buy my own. copped one on ebay for $275 so i saved a good chunk of money over buying a new one.
besides taking good project photos, i wanted a camera that i could use for skiing, and the gx85 has 4k video so it was a pretty easy choice. it's also much smaller than a traditional dslr so i won't need to haul around a huge ass camera setup.
tbh i don't know a lot about cameras, i just jumped on this one because it had a good balance of photo and video quality and wasn't gonna bankrupt me

I just built my first AR, bought a 16" 556 stainless barrel upper from PSA. Love it.
I have a 600yd range nearby so I'll see how accurate I can be at that distance. If I'm going for long range I'll run 77g SMK rounds through it. But there is A LOT of drop at that distance. Probably like 80 inches. Otherwise, 500 yds should be fairly manageable.

OregonDeadRAV4 size is still pretty compact tho which IMO is much more practical than a big pick up or yukon if you want to squeeze in to the lot on a pow day
