i just bought a 1 dollar guitar string and I need to tell the world. this thread is shameless, nobody comes to see what anyone else bought, it exists only to tell everyone how excited I am about this guitar string.

I come to see what other people bought. I've actually found a lot of purchases in this thread cool enough to make the same purchase myself.

I don't think many people will care about your guitar string much because:

a) It would require people who play guitar to see your post that has no eye catching picture, just text instead.
b) It's $1. There isn't a whole lot of commitment there. I think a lot of people appreciate people's purchases a bit more when they see that the purchase was a noticeable one that required some though and coin.
c) It's a guitar string. Maybe if it were a actual guitar or something. Even if I do play guitar, strings don't get me excited.

Fuck i can't believe i wrote all that. I'm procrastinating doing homework a bit...

I just made all the Jiberish, Saga, and other seemingly outrageously expensive crap clothing purchases that plague this site look cheap. This is the Mountain Hardwear Absolute Zero Down Parka, size L. Commonly found on the summit of Everest, this is about the warmest outerwear money can buy. I've wanted one for a long time but have been putting off paying the steep price of $799. Yes, obviously not for skiing. The sole purpose of this parka will be for belaying while ice climbing.

I also enjoy climbing. I have all the ski gear I need currently. I buy a fair amount of climbing gear. Is it worse to post climbing gear than the latest Supreme? I ask you, which of those makes skiers look worse?

it's not the image of the stuff you bought that makes skiers look worse, it's the shit you write about the stuff you post. it makes you sound condescending, and gives off a vibe that you think you're really awesome and badass because you climb.

i would rather have someone post a photo of their supreme and then just say nothing about it than have you post a photo of your $800 down jacket that you really don't ever need to wear unless, like you said, you're summiting everest. i mean come on dude, where are you gonna be belaying that you need that much warmth?

if someone posted supreme and said "this shit is so much better and cooler than your shit" i would be saying the same thing.

i think the thing that makes skiers look the worst is when skiers such as yourself hate on other people's purchases.

i have the next model up of this harness (the chaos) and it's a bomb harness. the sliding leg adjusters are a bit weird if you're used to an older/more traditional harness but they're easy to figure out and hold better than gorilla glue

Return that shovel right now and get a Voile Telepro (or Telepro mini), unless you want your friends to die. That shovel sucks and will break on you in any serious avalanche condition. The Telepro is the best shovel on the market (no dispute there) and anything else is just going to get someone killed.

I have a slightly different, older red BCA model and have used it in all sorts of snow conditions. Granted, I've never had to unburry anybody (thank jah), but I've never had any issues with it though. Only issue is that my fucking roomates used it on our driveway and the edges are somewhat sharpened now which fucks up my backpack when i use it.

These are laminated sticks, and I won't go back to using anything else after owning them. They're not too thick (maybe 2b diameter), but they're HEAVY. They have such a solid feel to them, and it takes way longer to break a pair than it does to break the thickest hickory sticks I could find at guitar center.

I also picked up two used cymbals as well, but I don't remember what they are so no pictures

I've had the bike for about 3 years now, just insured it now, been riding my whole life. It's a '89 Yamaha XT 225, straight import from Japan so it took some searching for paperwork haha.

Called an audible and got the Guardian 13's instead for the Bibby's. Thought it would be a better setup. I'll get the dynafits when I get a lighter ski and boot to pair with them. I wanna be able to slay in-bounds on them without worrying about accidentally releasing.

Viciks. It just wasnt a light setup all together. Lange RX130, Trackers, Viciks. The new setup is K2 Sideseth (not super light) then hopefully scarpa Freedom SL (if they fit).
