FS is way more fun to ride than a hardtail. As someone who has ridden strictly hardtails for the last 6 years, I can honestly say that hardtails suck to ride.

However, not all hardtails are created equal. Carbon makes such a big difference. In racing, hardtails are pretty much always superior. Not to mention way cheaper.

I just got the Nordica Ace 2 Star

Salsa Pro Moto 2 5 degree backsweep flatbar. It was so hard finding a wide flat bar with little back sweep.

and a right XT brake lever because I snapped mine during a race.

I've been riding both full suspension and hardtails for 15 years and I currently only have a steel hardtail. As far as bang for your buck goes, you can't beat a hardtail. You can get the same specs on a complete hardtail for half the price of a full suspension with the same specs. Sure, full suspension will handle the downhill better, but if you're a good rider, that shouldn't matter on 90% of trails anyways. I ride my NS Bitch with a 5" fork and frequently beat my friends down the mtn who have 7" fullys. Hardtails make you have to think more and throw your bike around with more finesse, which I often find more fun than just blowing straight through on a full suspension. Don't get me wrong though, as soon as I get some money together after ski season, I'm getting a new fully. I'm just saying that there's no reason to rag on a hardtail simply because you prefer a more expensive full suspension bike.

Also, when did nordica jump on the 3-piece/3 buckle boot wagon?
