I have a small head that fits the mitch & ness/starter squarier brim much better wheras it looks really stupid when i wear something with a wide brim like new eras so it goes both ways

I've said this before in another thread, but I'll say it again. The only people who hate on Instagram, are immature douche bag kids who's parents bought them a DSLR and now they think they're so fucking pro.

Go look at any REAL PAID professional photographer, and not only do they have an Instagram account, but they use it a bunch.

^ im in the same boat as you, i mostly use instagram for stupid shit that i would never want to do something with like frame or put it in my portfolio. but i hate kids who do things like that, there is a girl in my school who has a portfolio full of instagram photos and it is rediculous. And she has a dslr and doesnt know how to use it.

It's a social networking site. The point isn't to just post well composed pieces of art, it is explicitly for sharing snapshots with your friends. It's nice when you are able to post a photo that actually stands on it's artistic merit, but that's not what it was made for.

For example, here's the last photo I posted to instagram. It's just a snapshot of me and my GF. No photographic merit as far as composition or anything. This is what instagram was made for.

No one was having a conversation about instagram though and you came out of left field with some serious butthurt. If you don't want to see pictures of dishes (which is technically a snapshot of someone's life, if they have dirty dishes), then stop following people who post them. There's no need to randomly get mad because someone posted a photo of their latest purchase in a latest purchase thread and it had a black border with yellow highlights and purple shadows. I'm sorry your family was killed by an instagram filter, but that's your business. The whole point of instagram is to post random snapshots that have had lame filters added to them.

The point isn't to post photographic masterpieces, that's obviously what flickr is for.

I was trolling on the "flickr is for masterpieces" thing, but serious about you needing to untwist your panties. If you don't like instagram that's fine, but you literally brought it up out of nowhere with no one asking, and it's something that's so innocuous that anyone with that much hate for it has a major stick up their ass.

I don't give a shit if people use the word gay as an insult, all I said was that drinking starbucks isn't gay.

You really did bring it up out of nowhere, because all he did was post a photo of his drink and you went off about instagram not making photos artistic or worthy of being looked at (which no one ever said it did). The reason he posted it is because it was his latest purchase, not because it was taken on instagram. It wasn't an issue until you decided to make it one.
