Taking Ritalin as a Study Aid

Has anyone on here without ADD or ADHD ever used a drug to helo you concentrate? Waht'd you use and how'd it go. My work load at school is temendous right now. It fucking sucks. I'm not expecting some drug to do it for me but some help would be cool

yeah i'm not prescribed anything but i take adderall all the time when i have a shitload of work or a long paper to write.

it works wonders, just don't start cleaning or go on facebook.

My friends first adderall session involved him writing two papers for one assignment and then taking a half hour to decide which one was best.

This year I bought some kids script out and ended up taking around 60-100mg a day... holy shit, please don't do that.

I'm doing homework right now and getting way behind as well, but just a thought, maybe you'd be able to get more done if you got off NS...Just saying, I know I'm not any better but still. You don't need drugs you need to get to work.

Everyone where I live has adderall. Very effective at making you do shit but stifles your appetite and sex drive.

i took adderall for half of sophomore year and all of junior year, prescribed. my grade changes were amazing.
this year, senior year, i really dont want to take it because it really fucks me up if i drink, and it doesnt really make me feel good... so im testing school without it.

i've also sold/traded some for some stuff, which is good. im sure i will sell all my left overs at college next year

I have ADHD, and I use ritalin, I'd imagine that the result would be the same as when I take too many.

Insane focus, no distraction. But like its not like a magic bullet that makes you study and learn, you still have to have the desire.

I also don't think its good for you, I even question it for myself. Makes me shakey sometimes, increased heart rate, loss of hunger, sweaty. I basically forgot to eat half of today and nearly passed out. Be careful and consider if you should be doing this. When I mess up the dosage I don't feel good.

I have severe ADHD and I take 40-60 max. 100mg would be so hard hard on the liver your body thanks you.

I was addicted to it throughout my junior year, taking a minimum of 70mg a day, non prescribed.

Its an definite help when it comes to school work and whatnot, but drinking on it makes so you have to drink twice as much to get the effect of what you normally drink.

If taken enough, and over a long period of time, it can cause severe depression, suicidal thoughts, personality changes, weight loss, insomnia, and a shit ton of other things.

Ive tried ritalin patches, ritalin, concerta, and adderall and i promise it is not worth doing whatsoever. youll fall in love with the shit, and then your gone from there. It got to the point where i would collapse, pass out, and even become violently angry... dont do it

when i was a kid i was put on ritalin, for ADD, it fucked with me a bit first week or so, I would sweat all night long, and my heart rate would be insane during the nights or during in active period, eventrully they took me off it and i was fine. i would suggest you know how much of it to take if you're dead serious.

sure it's illegal but it helps. i took time released adderall to study for finals and it worked wonders. good luck :)

I've always found that adderal sped up the effects of alchohol without drinking as much.

But if you dont plan on taking it regularly, dont fuck around with extended release, it doesnt work nearly as well

when i drank on it (more than like 6 drinks), i would get this like out of body hang over for a solid week, like tunnel vision and like completely out of it. really really fucked up. thats why i hate taking it, because i cant drink a lot on it

I have adhd and when i took adderal school was so easy it wasnt even funny. But the side effects were really bad for me, so now I just study longer and get the same effect.

i heard adderall is illegal in canada?

i take it all the time if i can get my hands on it. its a miracle drug, i honestly think it would help anyone. however the side affects SUCK and aren't worth it.. so if you use it, don't overdo it.

I took ritalin a long time ago and I remember it being great for me, but it kept me up until 3 in the morning regularly, just from taking a dose at 8 in the morning. It also kept me from eating which was a huge problem since I have always been skinny.

For the past 5 years, I have been taking adderall every school day, and usually once on the weekends. I went from taking 10mg of 4hour twice a day, to 15mg of 4hour twice a day, to 20mg of 4hour twice a day, to 20mg of 8hour (XR) once a day.

I always hated taking my ADHD meds (I was diagnosed and prescribed them in 4th grade, 8 years ago). Unfortunately, they kill my social personality and make me really quiet and antisocial which makes me hate them, especially at school. But this past year I finally realized the potential of them, when I started getting tons of homework.

I have gotten into the habit of putting off homework for two weeks, then cramming it into an allnighter by waiting until 9 at night to pop 30mg of 4hour and start tanking through the work. I think it has gotten to the point where I rely on the pills to do this sort of thing, and I'm nervous as to what the consequences will be on my body in the future because of what I put on myself with these pills.

It had the opposite effect on me.  I only tried it once, when I was insanely busy and needed to just sit down and study for a final exam for like 8 hours.  After the exam I started to drink, but I never felt drunk.  Eventually I just stopped drinking because I knew that I had drank too much, but only felt buzzed.  It was weird.  I felt like complete shit in the morning.

I've only taken it once but it was pretty positive when I took it. I had a bunch of work to do and me and my roommate took one each and went to the library. It got me insanely focused and I tore threw my work pretty easily. I'd say go ahead and take it but don't make a habit out of it. If you do then you'll start to depend on it to do work.

totally depends. Some doctors will just write one up with little questions asked, like my one friends her dad and brother have ADD so the doctor was like well its probably genetic so he just wrote it up. But she wasn't. Where as I had to get  accessed and it was like 6 hour process of tests.

add is a poor excuse, yet adhd has been proven. and thus with some help and treatment can, the drugs can be beneficial to those diagnosed with adhd

I never said people with ADD and ADHD shouldn't take medication, but i know SO MANY normal kids who take shit tons of adderall all the fucking time just to study for an exam when all you have to do it sit down, open a book, open your notes, turn on some tunes, and study. It's not hard to just buckle down.

Ritalin won't really help you study that much. What you want in d-amphetamine salts(aka Adderal). If you don't take it a lot its not that bad for you and you wont build up a tolerance. (i have a script but only take it like once a week) A lot of kids i know rely on it to do all there work which is stupid cus then you end up spending alot of money and you act like a crack head. I recommend taking it only when you really need to get shit done

I buy adderall off my friend usually once every week or every other week when I have a lot of work to get done. I really only use it for papers that I need to get done in like a night. Otherwise I can get my work done without it just fine.
