So my parents...

they just had a meeting with me and my sister. they told us theyre seperating. apparantly they've been goinng to a counseler for a while now and its not doing much. so they decided one of them will rent an condo or appartment and they are going to rotate who lives at home and who lives there every 4 days or so. i never really noticed them becoming less close, i just figured it was cause theyre married. they have only had one big fight that i know of. so what do you think will happen? are they done for good? cause that would sorta suck. this came as a huge shock to me when they told me us.

thanks and they said they're basically friends now. but who knows whats the truth and whats them trying to make me and my sister feel better. shes only 12 anyway

That sucks. My aunt and uncle just got a divorce and its affecting my mom (her sister) a lot. Also they have 2 kids, 7 and 5. Its tough.

That's rough man. my parents just finalized theirs. it wasn't as tough for me though as i saw it coming (saw them fighting and stuff). it gets easier as time passes on, i'll give it that

same. but its been like 6 years for me... after like 2 u get used to it but theres a chance they get back together man. my friends parents separated for like 3 months then go re married. vibes man... hope everthing can go well v+++

this is true. but sometimes space is the only thing that really allows people to maintain a relationship, even if it's not romantic anymore. it's definitely better than if they stayed together and kept forcing their marriage to work, because that would just make a shitty family environment for you. the best thing is to just hope that they figure out a way to co-exist and keep things solid at home.

If they were still friends they could probably handle living together. But you never know. Hopefully they stay somewhat close since they have kids to tie the family together.

hmm so you guys stay home, and they alternate who lives in the house? that's kind of weird...i don't think that's a solution to lessen the blow for you if that's what they think. i'm sorry to hear it. my parents split when i was 14. it depends if they think they wanna get back together or not, but i mean, putting it on the fence for you guys isn't fair either, that's almost like false hope. i know it seems shitty now, but on the scale of things it doesn't mean much. it means your parents obviously still love each other but they're not getting along, and that happens in relationships all the time. as long as they can stay peaceful for you two then it's better. my parents still talk, obviously less, but i mean, they'll still be there at my wedding or whatever you know. i know some people who's parents don't talk at all and would kill each other if they had contact. look on the bright side, take it day by day. know that's it's not the end of the world no matter how hard it may be to swallow. it all really depends what they want out of the situation. two people who want to be together will sacrifice, two people who can't compromise are just lost and a bit selfish. all the best. it'll be ok. don't forget, that most of all, they still both love you.

My parents split when I was 11, I'm a senior now. Looking back it sucked but was definitely for the best. Keep your chin up, you'll be fine.

I was about 12 when it happened to me. I'm 16 now, but it does get better. Just make sure your sister has someone she could talk to. I know that could of helped a lot for me. +vibes

strange living situation but it gets better. im a senior now and my parents split when i was a freshman and it had definately turned out for the better. its not an ideal situation but look for the good things, getting to spend time with each parent one on one and stuff like that. good luck!
