Just watched eye trip and...

i thought it was pretty good. even though there was a sun valley segment i still wish that there was a mammoth segment like in refresh... and its to bad harlaut did not have more shots but overall very good job level 1

Wow! Just received Eye Trip yesterday and it is such a sick movie!

1. Dadali is on fiyahh... his segment is off the chains, he's an animal!

2. Delorme = some of the styliest BC I have ever seen, he is bringing something new to the table I believe in the backcountry game.

3. To all of you who said Wallisch's segment was too short or not that good... well I think that we did not see the same segment, it was real good.

4. JF Houle's segment is INSANE! One of the best in the movie for sure!!!

5. Bdogs segment was good, but I think that last year's was better IMO.

6. Deception= No real park shoot, just the sun valley jump. I really think that this kind of left me wanting more at the end of the movie.

Seeing how I live in Boise, and Sun Valley isn't all that far, watching the Sun Valley segment made the movie for me. Ahmet's part was sick (even my dad liked it), and all around i thought it was a pretty great movie.

But really:

When you hear the opening riff's of "Children of the Grave" and you've seen the clip of them guinea-pigging that jump, you know shits gonna go down.

the energy kind of dies as the movie went on. ahmet and delorme absolutely slay the first segments and there were some really intense moments throughout the middle and end. [im pretty friggin tired right now and only just watched it for the first time so my mood might be affecting how i saw the middle and end of the movie]


overall i would say better than refresh and it definitely isnt getting the hype it should. i think when more people get their dvds and watch it close on a tv or laptop, theyll see more of why it won so many awards. definitely better than pbp revolver i feel and i think anyone or is more park than bc is going to feel that.

Refresh and Long Story Short are the best movies of all time. So it would be unfair to compare them to any movie.

Anyone in England reading this and waiting on their copies . . we're showing it on the biggest screen in the UK (bigger than Wembley Stadium) 3 weeks from today. Alongside PBP, Awone, Unity, 4bi9, Toy soldier productions, Legs of Steel and quite a few more . . new press release going up on NS next week. Simon Dumont etc are also attending and signing gear for our charity auction . . :)

I agree he had some killer shit in there, but I know he's capable of more... I guess I just prefered the overall vibe of his segment in refresh and he had a bit of powder shots which were ill in last year's movie.

But I agree with you that his segment was still a killer.

i was kinda disappointed with eye trip. they have been going downhill since shanghai 6, but this year and last year is when it became pretty noticeable.
shanghai 6 had such an awesome flow, an awesome vibe, and IMO the best riders out of any of their movies. the only riders i felt were very impressive were delorme, bibby, ahmet and rainville. and even them and some of their other riders with alot of potential werent given as much attention as other skiers throwing the same generic tricks, with the same style.
where did all their awesome riders go? steele spence, travis redd, stefan thomas, craig coker, dan marion, austin ramaley john symms and im probably forgetting more, they were all so much more entertaining to watch.
watching eye trip, apart from the few stand outs, its like watching the same person skiing for 40 minutes. that and the flow, editing, and feel of the movie is alot worse than their previous movies.
fuck this im gonna go watch shanghai 6.

LSS, turbo, refresh, eye trip.

going down hill i would tend to disagree. you werent impressed with wiley, tom, JF, parker or chris? i thought the flow of the movie was very good and i nice change up from what level 1 had last year and the year before.

and for the same style i dont see that at all. sure they all land there tricks very smooth but that doesnt mean there style is the same.

yeah i was still impressed but i feel like alot of the good riders didnt get enough attention or shots. i actually really liked jf's part now that i think of it. i think part of it is not having individual segments, it kinda makes everyone seem the same. its hard for them to stand out. i think it works better with everyone having an individual segment, then a couple segments with different riders mixed together.
that and i was really dissapointed with the park shoots this year.

it was just an ok movie to me, but nothing compared to shanghai 6 or lss.

I'm bumping a random thread with the word Eye trip in the title,

but have anyone noticed how they write warren miller in the credits at the end of the movie ? I think they dont want to get sued again this year. Warren M#&%!!er entertainment could get mad again.

I liked the movie but it kinda felt like one long edit. Not enough structure and it kinda left the movie lacking an overall vibe. The skiing was sick but somehow it left me wanting more
