So anyway, my Line EP Pros broke. Massive sidewall delam in several places on one ski. Shouuuld be under warranty but one way or another I need some new skis.
A little about me... I'm about 5' 9", 195lb. I eat too many pies.
I ski my Southern winters in New Zealand and my northern winters in powdery places like Japan or BC, Canada when money allows.
For the last couple of seasons my 'daily' has been a fat, rockered ski. Previously I was on 08 Hellbents, then 09/10 EP Pros. I generally ski all over the mountain, trees, cliffs, park (ignore rails), BC jumps, whatever floats my boat on a given day. Probably take cliffs to 30ft and jumps 50, 60ft? Going warp speed isn't a huge concern. Yeah so what if they suck on hardpack, I love how much fun you can have on big dumb skis.
I really enjoyed the EPs but they were perhaps a bit soft for a bigger guy like me.
So here's my list of skis I can probably get. Budget isn't really an issue since hopefully the importer will warranty mine with a credit or something. Whatever I get will most likely be mounted at center with Jesters.
K2 Hellbent
Atomic Bent Chetler
Volkl Chopstick
K2 ObSETHed
Line EP Pro
I've skied the Hellbent and really enjoyed it but that was in pow and I'm slightly worried about the weight, although they're only 120g/pair more than my old ones.
Never skied the Chetler or Chopstick
Skied the ObSETHed today and quite enjoyed it but I kinda feel that if I'm gonna go that fat I may as well go the whole 9 yards and get the Hellbent.
And the EP Pro is exactly the same as my current one with a different topsheet, obviously I enjoyed it but it's hard to return to a model that's fallen apart on you, despite how freakin' sweet they may have been.
What do you reckon, NS?
