Ok so ive been in the plymouth/waterville/loon area for the past 9 years, so ive ben to this hospital for skiing or rando injurys prob once a year. they seem to always tell me the thing that is wrong with me, then i go and get it checked by real doctors and what sphere had said was totally wrong. This past week I went there for what sphere told me was a sprain, they gave me X-rays and a Catscan. Then i got it checked a real doctor and it was a broken foot. fuckin thanks sphere. So ive heard horror storries out of some ppl at psu of sphere who got some more.

Same with Fletcher Allen (UVM). Tore my ACL, got up the next morning, couldn't put any weight on it and it was swollen to the size of a softball. I went the the ER at Fletcher Allen, they took an xray, I waited 2 hours for them to come back and say that I had no broken bones and needed to get an mri. I was like yea no shit I didn't break a bone, give me a damn mri now and they didn't. Plus the fucking bitch was doing all the torque tests on my knee and was like "Well at least you didn't tear your ACL, it's definitely in tact." Went home the next day, the orthopedist just did the torque test and said he was pretty sure it was torn, MRI the next day, and sure enough, it was torn. What a waste of time it was going to the ER.

Similar thing happened to my brother. Dislocated his shoulder. Ski patrol was trying to traction his arm straight up in the air while he laid down putting all his weight on his shoulder on the edge of the sled. My brother is a WEMT and worked on an ambulance for multiple years, so he pretty much started screaming at them to let him sit straight up in the sled and he had to traction his own dislocated shoulder across his torso cause they had no idea how and were literally trying to have him hold his dislocated arm straight up in the air.
It's kind of scary how little some ski patrol actually know.

Haha yeah ski patrol sucks too. last season when i broke my collar bone at Waterville, the guy said that since it was the weekday crew they didnt know much about injurys jus how to close trails, so i asked him for some ibprofein, they wouldnt give me any. then i went to sphere and their solution was some hydrocodein and rest. so for a break they dont even splint/brace it. yep sucks
