Ok i got the salomon suspects 2011 thinkin they were a ski which deliveres good pop, steady jibbin and nice preformance in groomers and pow, but turns out their durability is "shit". I was wonderin what durability is refrencing, like edges core strength or what??
i have a pair of the 2010 model and i noticed that the top layer chipped really easily. i hear that the skis snap and stuff but i haven't had a problem with the ski. i think the edges wouldn't have a problem tho because of the edge armour.
The durability of the suspect tends to be hit or miss. Some people's pairs seem to be near indestructible while other's pairs have infinite edge cracks and chipping. Hopefully the 2011's are better. They are now being made in Austria so that should help with the durability as they will be better constructed. I have heard from a lot of people that they are some of the nicest skis they have ever ridden.
Yeah i was wondering about their durability as well! I herd that many people had them break but they were the 2010 Suspects or older models! Apparently they improved the 2011 Suspect model!
The 2011 Suspect is unchanged from the year before, so the durability really won't have changed much. I've never had a pair, but I would never get a pair either. I have heard too many stories of them just getting destroyed. The edge armour is supposed to be shit also, so the edge cracks pretty easily apparently.
