What Phone?

Well anyways, as I was making my way to class, a mentaly challenged pupil came up to me and noticed I was chewing gum. He in turn wanted a peice. I was already running late so I just said "Maybe later". Well that was obviously the answer he didn't want so he wouldn't leave until I gave up a peice of my Trident Layers. As i was opening my binder to get it, he got even closer to me and I kinda pulled a Neo and leaned backwards to get away. As I leaned away my phone slipped out and fell a good 4 1/2 feet to straight rocky cement. Pics or it didn't happen?

Well thankfully it works, but it's glitching up a storm.

The question is now, what phone should I get?

I'm thinking Droid or maybe another Storm since I was so used to it, but then again it is poop. Maybe the Evo? I dont know, what are some phones that you guys carry around and love?

what don't you like? are you rooted? why not just fix what's wrong with it? flash back to 2.1? flash a different rom?

@ the OP - if you want to stay with Verizon, or don't have a choice in the matter, then grab up on the droid x. it's a little hotter than the incredible, which is their second best non-rim phone in their line up imho. if you're game to get down and dirty with your phone, the droid platform is definitely the way to go. open source is awesome.

I've personally got an EVO and it's the dopest phone I've ever owned. had iphones, palms, other droids, etc., and I can do more with this damn phone than I could have ever even imagined. the specs are nuts on it, and i love the huge fucking screen. battery is so-so, but that was easily solved with a spare battery and a wall charger.

as to iphones/att - they are nice, but i like how much easier it is to hack droids. screens a little too small for me (although the 4 does have the best fucking screen ive ever seen.) also, with the way that smart phones suck down battery, fuck having a device with an internal battery that I can't swap out in 9 hours when I burn through the bitch.

RIM (blackberries) - unless you do some serious fucking secretive emailing and need the encryption offered by RIM's services, then save your time. they're a great business tool, but they've got no where near the toys that apple and google have available.

i'd be skeptical at this point on WM7. windows mobile has consistently been a shitty operating system since it's inception. fucking terrible. buggy as all hell.

i have no doubt that w7 will be better than previous windows mobile versions, but i don't want to be a beta tester based on their history. any new platform will inevitably have bugs to work out.

it's sink or swim in the smart phone market these days. google and apple are wrecking fucking shop. if w7 isn't spot fucking on almost from the get go, then i'd suspect that it's success will be very limited....similar to what happened when Palm missed the mark with the Pre.

time will tell i guess.

what is it about CM that you like so much? I've been debating flashing cm6 on my EVO, but haven't gotten around to it yet. Currently running Fresh 3.3 and have it pretty much all set up the way that I want it. Wireless tethering works like a champ. Plus I get great battery life still. Since everything is working great, I've been hesitant to flash CM, but maybe I'm missing out on something?...?...? Thoughts?
