Hit it with Tanner the day that Tanner wrecked himself. Tried a couple switch nines but kept over shooting and never landed. Went to lunch, Tanner broke his ankles and Jon didn't hit it again.
oh don't feel old dude, haha, I was way into skiing back then, too... and I knew they were hitting it on the same day, but I never knew for sure what Jon did over it/what he landed & why none of the footage made it into TBC.
does anyone have better video than this? I wanted to embed it w/ the thread, but it wasn't working for me. There's a few shots of his sw9 & that 180 someone else mentioned.
I heard he tried a double, did some flat 5s, ripped around on his lamborghini and then slayed a slalom course. He also paid $250 000 to have the jump built, and red bull flew in a crate of drinks for him. Tanner then proceeded to break his ankles, so Jon could win X-games, while Tanner made a movie, and then flipped shit because Xavier Bertoni beat him. The 1080s then came out, twintip skiing was invented, the New Canadian Air Force pushed the sport by doing 360s and then Johnny Mosely made a crappy video game. Newschoolers was born, eheath got fat and skierman grew red hair, then skateboarding became cool and everyone complained because skiing wasn't like skateboarding, doubles aren't cool, now they're stylish, backcountry is gnarly, errybody shreds, win-win situation.
Teddy Bear Crisis was my first like, legit ski movie that I watched over and over, along with Shanghai Six. All I'd seen before that were a couple of my dads warren miller's haha good times.
