LOL this.
And as to OP's reply to this, I'm pretty sure your teacher didn't tell you to go home and ask somebody else to do your homework for you.
This is not a difficult question. Google, wikipedia, not hard.

For sure. We should have a servant government. Instead we have a mess like we do. People don't care because it's the same as it ever was, at least for their lifetimes.

Also a constitutional republic is almost impossible to keep. Especially if the people are slacking and don't keep the government in check. It's a great system for freedom, but maintaining it isn't easy.
Unfortunately most people in america think that america was founded as a democracy.

woozy's answer was probably the best you are going to get.
without revolutionary changes in government every now and then we end up with what we have currently, a giant cesspool of career politicians who are disconnected from the real world and spend all of their time on politicking instead of working for the people they are supposed to be representing.

here is my reasoning:
After time power centralizes. Its a slow process, but it happends. Look at Canada, the prime minister was only an icon in the beginning, and now hes the most powerful figure in Canadian politics. By overthrowing the government, you get rid of the power greed that creeps over the years.
Another reason is the views of the population changes over the years. We are never the same nation we were 20 years ago. 20 is a generation, each generation has their views ideologies and ways of doing things. If government is not overthrown every 20 years, permanents stay longer and conduct more influence, hence destroying the idea of democracy.
More the people know about laws and politics, more they know about the loopholes. We call it loophole exploitation, they see it as opportunity. So, 20 years is enough to know the system and its unjust flaws. So if we reverse every 20 years, politicians have less chances of learning about the flaws and conduct in a more democratic manner.

Governments should fear the people, people shouldn't be afraid of their government.
It keeps the central government in check.
