So for the up-coming season i really wanna rip the new liberty helixs and i first saw the blue and i think those are sick but the blue only come in 187 and i think thats way to big. I weigh 200lbs and i am 6'1" . does anyone know if liberty sizes small or anything. and the red ones only come in 176 and im not sure if those are too small. I cant find a dealer in NH. So i cant go look at them in person. Help would be appreciated.
Man up and get the 187, its not that big, and for your body style, it should suit you. It sounds like if you're interested in them, then go for them. It's a sweet ski, I liked it.
the helix would fit you perfect, especially when riding allmountain and pow, it measures perfectly, im 6'2" and i ride 186 liberty hazmats for allmountain and pow and they ride perfect. 176 is way too short. And the helixs have rocker in the tip so they will ride a little bit shorter and it will help with pow, go with the 187
You weigh 200 lbs? 187s will be just right. Or you could go with the Double Helix 182 if you think the 187s are too long. I ride the DH 182 and weigh 140, so I think you will be just fine.
pretty interesting. i thought at 105 waist theyd be a bit heavy to swing and throw down. seem like a pow specific ski. good to know, thanks, looks like ill be picking up a pair too! any suggestions?
They're actually super light. I mounted mine at -2.5 and they ski park much better than pow... If you wanna use em for pow, I'd recommend at least -5. I actually end up skiing them in the park as much as my AR6s.
where are you riding mostly? im out east, so we tend to get a lot of worn off trails due to excessive snowplowing and snowboarders going down the hill sideways. Saw on some reviews they are sick in the trees. that hold up true too? quick and easy to turn despite the 22 turn radius?
I'm out in CO. They're not the turniest ski out there, but I'm sure they would ski a bit better mounted farther back. They hold a great edge, so they's proly be a good midfat EC ski, but I'm not sure I'd recommend them for tight EC trees...
got any in mind that you would recommend? im in a bind with my line prophets, they are on their last legs and I was thinking of the helix for a pow option as well as just playing around on the mountain since its prob a lot softer than the prophet.
Hmmmm maybe the Blend? Rossi S5, ON3P Jeronimo, Atomic Coax come to mind. The Helix proly wouldn't be a bad choice - they just don't have a lot of sidecut, which makes em pretty stable but not super turny which would be good for EC ice.
Yea that looks like a sick ski. A couple of my buddies ride for them and rave about their skis. They have more sidecut than the Helix which would help in the trees for sure
Yea no worries. I don't think that's new this year. I'm not sure it actually makes a difference. It's not really rocker, I think that's more marketing hype than anything.
