so recently i just quite soccer

sad thing is my dad won't let me just sit on my ass and ski all winter

he now says i have to take up an instrument

what should i learn to play?

Start by buying guitar hero and play the drums, once you have mastered those, buy real drums

Guitar is super fun man, I'd recommend picking up an acoustic first, then once you have it figured out a bit think about getting an electric. Electrics are easier to play but the acoustic will help you build up finger and hand strength.

definitely drums.

or... if you are up to it, classical piano. Nothing hotter than a guy that sits down at a piano when you are at someone's house and goes crazy on the piano. You just can't tell anyone. It has to be a random well kept secret that you only bring out when there are hot girls around.

Everyone and there mom plays piano and guitar if you gonna learn an instrument i recommend one of the following -

Harmonica
Banjo
Mandolin
Flute

Unless you are going to train classically then i say Violin. Or last post is right classical piano is sexy but you probably wont get to far if your only drive is sex appeal. haha

True. I wish I had kept taking lessons. Would love to just go nuts on a piano at someones house or a bar. When your friend does it you're like WTF? You can play the piano?


I play the drums and the trumpet. that's about it. No real piano skills for me

I've heard that too. But if you wanna learn, and you're up for the challenge, why not? I wish I woulda stuck it with the violin longer, I would love to be able to jam out right now. Electric violin is sooooo sick.

apparently you do.. so many shitty drummers in bands where every other musician slays. if you are a solid drummer, you can make a decent salary as a studio or session drummer.

haha yeah i figured, but hey, it's awesome that your Dad supports you playing music. Mine called me an idiot when i bought my first bass and amp.

Bass is super fun. You can play right away if you do punk or rock, and you can progress to the level of playing Ska and Reggae. Playing regular guitar is fun until you realize that no matter where you are SOMEONE IN YOUR VICINITY WILL BE BETTER THAN YOU for the first decade or so you play.

learn the to play the harp. Not only is it ridiculously pleasant sounding, but i'm almost certain that harp music itself will physically remove a woman's clothes.

if you want a cheap instrument, piano is the way to go. you can score so many free or minimally priced pianos on craigslist, its outrageous.

true. Transporting it isnt easy, but you do get to be that guy walking through the mall with the ridiculous instrument box that no one can figure out. And again, mysterious instrument almost directly means woman are attracted. and you may as well gain some chicks from this

harmonica, not that hard to learn, can take it with you anywhere and can play at any time.

plus when someone is jamming and you just start playing the harmonica it makes any song 10X better

the issue with harmonicas is that if you want to play with other people, you're going to need at somewhere between 5 and 15 different ones, as each harmonica is tuned to a certain scale.

i love playing guitar, acoustic and electric. there are tons of songs out there that use the guitar so you can pretty much learn whatever you want, its really fun too
