Lipton. And they differ because they're cheap and sweeter.

currently writing a paper on the Tea Party...in my opinion the Tea Party is a faction of people who are pissed off at the government and center around far right wing ideals. Their main issue is excessive government spending although I'm willing to bet if you asked an older follower if they were willing to give up social security of Medicare Plan D benefits they'd say no...go figure

It's not so far right. I would put that in the libertarians.
The tea in TEA party stands for taxed enough already. They dont like higher taxes, government stimulus plans, bailouts, socialized medicine, and big government. They dont like democrats that have voted for these things. They certainly dont like republicans who have voted for these things. IMO, it has grown because the republican party is weak, and too many members have lost site of true conservative values. They have compromised their beliefs and values in an effort to sway moderate voters--See John McCain Presidential Candidate in 2008. Essentially it is an effort to get the bad politicians out of washington, both republican and democrat, through the next election, and continuing that process through term limits.
They arent as bad as people think. They arent crazy. Of course the news will show the 1 crazy person out of 1000 because showing normal people wouldnt create a story. Same for the liberal side.

They are from the far right...or neo liberals. They believe in laissez faire economy, no government intervention of any kind.
The movement was reborn from the 1790's group that tried to get rid of the royalty in the US. In 2009, Ron Paul created the second wave to combat democrat's majority in the House.
I completely disagree with most of the tea parties agenda. Im not going into detail, I just dont like the right.

False
"Tea Party" is an allusion to the Boston Tea Party, "Taxed Enough Already" is just a popular sign.
the tea party ideology is not all that different than republican ideology, the difference is that tea party conservatives say they will actually support that ideology when in office
example: conservatives always have hated high government spending, but most republicans have increased the federal deficit, tea partiers plan to actually lower the deficit

On the basic level, they are right leaning people that appear to be extreme right who are incredibly pissed off with not only the Democrats but also the "Republicans/Conservatives" who currently hold office.

Actually a lot of tea partiers are libertarians who are sick of the retarded Republican party holding office. No true libertarian supports increased spending for armed forces and foreign occupations. Basically the tea parties are fighting to get all of the Bush-esque Republicans out of office and get true conservative values in office (low taxes and low spending). Too many Republicans preach low taxes and then lower taxes for the upper class and increase spending (like Bush), creating a bigger deficit.

this is true we also want our country back to the way the founding fathers wanted it to, to have a country that abides by the constitution, and have a country that was set on the belief of having freedom and having the citizens make the decisions for the country instead of the government, the government was set up to make sure that everyone followed the constitution, the government should not be making economic decisions, and ignoring the constitution and taking away our rights and freedom

When you can take a stance without sounding like a mindless lemming, post it.
Seriously, learn the issues from others point of view too and you won't sound like a lemming that only watches CNN.

I think the mass chaos in this thread speaks to the fact that people aren't really sure what the Tea Party is, even among its own lines. I'm sure there are Tea Party followers in California who would look at Christine O'Donnell in Delaware and say "what a moron". If they want to become a political force one thing is for sure: they need to have more centralized leadership and image.

This. My opinion, sans alluding to shit news networks is similar to yours. People are mad. People who are mad realize the don't like Dems or Repubs although they agree a bit more with the Repubs. There is this hot new movement called the TEA Party that says they are going to change it all. All the mad people get into it even though many of them are upset for different reasons and some don't really know what specific issue they are mad about anyway. Causes the TEA Party to turn into a clusterfucked mob of angry people bitching about anything from Obama being 'Hitler,' to Immigration, to the economy, to health care. Some hate it all. Some just hate. Some have reasons for it. Some, like I already said, just hate.

I wasn't trying to imply that hoodSlayer alluded to news networks. It was more a point towards other things in this thread.
