Ok so last weekend i messed up my knee playing hockey. they said it was probly just a meniscal tear, and that was fine because id be ok before the snow falls. I didn't feel a pop, it didn't swell, and i tramped that night. Well, apparently I have the most mysterious knee my doctor has ever seen, because the MRI came back and I have a completely TORN ACL, with none of the symptoms. My life is now fucked for a year due to PT and surgery. The only thing i want to do is ski. It was taken away from me. Wish me luck NS...
I tore mine and both ski patrol and the ER said it was probably just a tweak, and I quote "You definitely did not tear any ligaments". Went home to CT the next day to the orthopedist, he could tell I tore my ACL without an MRI or anything, he knew right away.
my friend tore his acl in aspen, skied another run on it, then came back went to the doctor, found out it was torn, played a full season of tennis on it, then finally has surgery on it this summer... and he cant ski until next year...
i asked him that and he said i can do park as long as it feels good. i cant bend it wrong on purpose when im in my skis, and with this crazy brace itl take a huge fuckup to ruin it again. so by 90% i do mean park.
So ive skid a few times this year and everything felt great on rails. but today i messed up and now im probably out for the season and at least until further notice . theres always a next year though.
