Ok so last weekend i messed up my knee playing hockey. they said it was probly just a meniscal tear, and that was fine because id be ok before the snow falls. I didn't feel a pop, it didn't swell, and i tramped that night. Well, apparently I have the most mysterious knee my doctor has ever seen, because the MRI came back and I have a completely TORN ACL, with none of the symptoms. My life is now fucked for a year due to PT and surgery. The only thing i want to do is ski. It was taken away from me. Wish me luck NS...

don't be so bummed about a 'whole year being fucked", I went on a summit county backpacking trip 3 two months post surgery for ACL and meniscus

but yeah its a long road nonetheless, good luck to you

I would suggest doing physical therapy non stop if all you want to do is ski. My friend had her ACL surgery in mid February and was skiing the beginning of July.

I feel your pain. Tore my acl first run at Windells. Surgery next June, no REAL skiing or skating for a year from now. Just get really good at random shit.

Thanks for everything NS you guys are great. My knee is a mystery even to an ortho who was once the head of medicine for the Boston Red Sox. The only thing hes sure of is that my ACL is torn all the way through. But i will be doing PT for as long as it takes.

Sucks so bad man. Do your PT and keep your muscles strong, you can still do most stuff but at a lower level, eg skiing but don't fall hahaha

i feel for you man, i did mine in may.... it didnt hurt much either and hasnt really the whole process, but just chill, try to give it the full recovery time and get back out there. If you ski long enough i feel like you eventually have to deal with this sooner or later

Fuck dude I am sorry to hear that. That happened to me sophomore year in football but it was just a torn meniscus. Pt didn't help me at all. Infact the thing that helped me the most was getting back on my snowboard. But.....your injury is way worse and I heard skiing is way more gnar on the knees. Hopefully your mysterious knee will mysteriously heel fast. Good luck

they say complete tear doesn't hurt, its the partial tear that hurts, and you can still walk pretty much normal with no acl's
but still that sucks man +vibes. make sure you stick with pt tho, I am like almost done with mine for my shoulder. it might seem annoying at times, but its worth it

Thanks again for the vibes guys. my first PT sesh is tomorrow! wish me luck im gonna make sure i get better ASAP. and as for the doctor question, he was actually once the head medical director of the boston red sox and ortho for the St. Louis Blues. my knees pretty stable, so as long as my growth plates close soon i can get surgery and heal pretty quick =)
