Three shows last weekend

Friday: Broken Social Scene
Saturday: Pavement
Sunday: Holy Fuck

BSS was solid, though the venue was large. Pavement was a great nostalgia show, as they were my absolute favorite band a bunch of years back. Holy Fuck was completely outstanding and I would not miss them live.

Anyone into these bands at all?

Saw BSS live at Osheaga a couple of years ago... was fucking awesome. They do pretty well at a big venue.

I'm actually debating getting tickets to see holy fuck in a couple weeks. I would in an instant but I've already got a ticket for a snowboard premiere preparty that night. And I think I'm going to see Japandroids the night before. And I don't know if I can survive going out 3 school nights in a row.

What was their set list like? Did they play nonstop or interact with the audience a lot?

First off, Fucked Up is the punk band; Holy Fuck is a sort-of-electronic offshoot of Wintersleep. Both are good.

HF's set list was basically their album Latin in its entirety. They didn't interact with the audience in the "NOBODY ROCKS LIKE BOSTON!" sense, but the show was intimate and the crowd was in their faces and really stoked. But no, the band barely talked other than saying thanks at the end. I think they wanted to flow between tracks without a let-down. I highly recommend seeing them, if only to see their musicianship, which is outstanding.

Am I the only one who thinks that Pitchfork is shoving Pavement down our throats as some kind of joke? I can't stand them. Sounds like an awesome weekend though.
