If it's friendly, I use cheers as well.

If it is important such as a cover letter or thank you email for a job or replying to something on craigslist, I go for the bold statement of, "I look forward to hearing from you,"

for 75% of my personal emails. emails regardless of destination.

for the other 25%:

my parents/sister either get love you, or miss you.

to other people in the country regardless of whether I wrote the email in spanish or english: besos, abrazo,

friends from back in the US: usually talk to you soon, or take care.
