Marker Jester toe piece problem

I have Marker Jesters mounted on salomon guns, with spk boots. The were mounted by a good shop too. The problem is towards the end of last season there was some play in the toe piece. The piece was screwed down right and tight, but the toe of the boot was able to move up and down about 1/8. I know I should take them back to the shop, but im going to sell them soon and would like to save the 2 hour drive to the shop. Does know whats up with the toe piece?

First generation Royal family bindings usually had problems with older boot designs like Raichle Flexon/FT/Dalbello because the toe lugs are slightly thinner but still within the DIN norm acceptance range. New Royal family bindings (09 model year+) have new toe wings that have tighter tolerances, which you can also buy to upgrade first generation Royal family bindings.

SPKs typically shouldn't have this problem unless you have worn down soles.

My soles look fine and fit into last seasons griffons no problem

yo have the same problem is there any way to fix this?
maybe duck tape under the boot to remove the gap??

could be toe height needs adjusting. take it to someone who is certified.

2010-2012 Jesters and Griffons all have adjustable AFD heights now to fix any of those issues.

if you've developed slop in the binding there's a very good chance you've worn down your toe lugs too far and they're no longer at DIN height

"The primary issue experienced with the Jester Pro (and the Jester for that matter) is a loosening of the toe piece. After a season of hard charging or a big fall, the toe piece has a tendency develop a slight wobble forward and backward. This issue is easily resolved by adding a few clicks of forward pressure. If the wobble is substantial, Marker will warranty the binding if it is within a year old!"
