Ski help

didnt get much help in my unworthy thread, so im making a thread.
im 5'9 130 pounds. my 3 ski options are halo, ar7, or reno jibs.
im an ok skier, I can hit jumps up to 50 feet and slide most rails. i will be center mounting them with fks 120's.

i want a ski that is more on the softer side, easy to butter with, but can still ski groomers. i spend most of my time in the park except when fresh snow falls.

ar7's will last you the longest out of those three skis hands down.

i've ridden both the alpha 1 and 2. wasn't a huge fan of either one.

it skis different than a traditional camber ski. the rocker makes everything looser on hardpack and groomers. can't say i have any experience with them in any sort of new snow.

Can not speak about rockered skis, but I would go with ar7. There basically like the ar6 which is a high rated park ski, but with a lot of added stuff. I rode my ar6 all last year and I love the feel. Rode a lot of rails and the edges and bases did not have any damage. I would say the ar7 is likely to follow the ar6 that is why I would pick them.

im going to be buying the skis off of d-structure.
the halo only comes in 182, would i be able to ski that or should i go with the ar7 in 176 or 181?

halo's are out of the question if you are looking to centre mount. First of all they aren't designed to be centre mounted and it just fucks up the ski. By this i mean it messes up the swing wait and wont be fun to ski. If you want a ski to centre mount, look for a ski that is supposed to be centre mounted. (afterbang, is an example of this but don't buy it because they have awful bases) Hope this helps.

Ps. I think all armada skis are built to not be centre mounted but i recommend the ar7 if you must centre mount a ski from armada.

Actually center mounting a ski would make the swing weight a ton less. The only thing it would effect is where the waist of the ski is which would obviously make carving way different because you're in front of the core's center so the ski will behave differently and will probably wash out a lot more. And I guess it might change how the ski flexes but mostly in a positive way. That's just what I've observed from having skis mounted like that.
But ya, if you plan on hitting anything steep and staying on your feet go for something that's ment for true center. You could be like Brenan and get 2012s because of the rocker and the fact that its sidecut is symmetrical even though it got incredibly mixed reviews. I think it sounds good but I have no need for rocker here.

not in the case of armada skis centre mounting makes the swing weight a ton heavier. Most ski developers design the ski to be mounted at the 0 line on the ski which in fact is not the true centre of the ski. But you can mount them where ever you want because they are just recommendations after-all and the halos are super sick.

Dude, swing weight has nothing to do with where there is a line on the top sheet. Unless one half of the ski is a lot heavier than the other it'll make it lighter. Maybe someone can explain why in a little more detail but that's just kinda how it works.

It would be true for most non symmetrical skis actually. But I dont think you could actually notice the difference, we'd be talking a handful of grams.

You are describing thalls. Also if its 2011 reno jibs they are alot softer.
