exactly. I love when finals week comes, and i see all the people who had previously spent 3+ nights a week drinking sitting in the lounges cranking out papers and doing shit loads of homework.

my school sucks at drinking. People drink thursdays and a bit on friday, then by saturday are too tired and burnt out to do anything. I'm a fan of the friday-saturday drinking.

friday is the only day in the week where my lessons start after 9am, otherwise its 8.30 or 8.15 :(
and since 80% of my classes are sports and outdoor recreation, i must attend them, skipping a class without legit reason results in a pain in the ass task, and if you miss 2x without legit reason you get an instant 0/20

so yes, thirsty thursday is definately gonna be in my schedule for the coming year :D

i just got a bachelor degree in geology
and now i'm going for a second bachelor in physical education and outdoor management and recreation...

its basically a professional degree to become PE teacher, but with the supplementary outdoor management and recreation, you are also ready to get a job in the outdoor/sports business ....

i dunno if you have an equivalent in the US, but this is how it goes in europe...

and i can take up my ski-instructors course for study points ^^
just got my first week done and its quite badass, but 14h intensive sporting/week is quite hard if you aren't used to it... :)

at my school, the whole week is fair game... especially thursday, that's when most of the sports teams have things going on

my drinking schedule is tuesday, thursday, friday, saturday

Give me a fucking break.  I graduated last year with a 3.8+ GPA with a degree in Human Biology and I'm in grad school for Medical Science and I still drink almost every Thursday.  In college I drank most Wednesdays and even some Tuesdays.  It's not hard to balance schoolwork/exams with drinking and having a social life.

Frankly, I don't give a shit if you're impressed.  Just because you're not able to balance your work with drinking or whatever other social activity you choose does not mean that anyone who chooses to drink during the week is "not living up to their potential" or whatever you said in your first post.

I hate this kind of person. You act as if because you dont drink, or regularly drink, that you will get so much further ahead "in life." Im a senior engineering major, i get decent grades, i smoke and drink most nights a week. Its called having time management.

Why can't you just enjoy yourself?

Unless I have an exam on Friday I usually do. I only have two classes on Friday and I have a long ass week until Thursday night comes. It feels good to just kick back with some friends. I never go raging or anything on Thursday.

i think that naming a day of the week for drinking is immature and retarded. if your gonna drink, drink. "thirsty thursday" is like st. pattys day/cinco de mayo just some excuse for lightweight college drinkers to get drunk. if you gonna drink, drink you dont need to make up some dumb name for it or some made up holiday.

I think people can do whatever they want. I can't really drink thursdays this semester. Its not because I am challenging myself so much, it is just how my schedule worked out. This semester I can drink on monday nights, if i want, because I don't have class till 2 on tuesday. I usually choose not to, but thats just me. It doesnt mean I spend the whole night studying instead.

However I will say this, I have drank a lot on thursdays in the past (last semester pretty much every night.) and the next day is just a total scrub most of the time and I am just pissed off and dont learn. So I changed my habits.

I guess what I'm trying to say, is that I don't really give a fuck what other people do. If you can't find things to do on thursdays that don't involve drinking, and you don't want to drink, that sucks, but it sounds like a personal problem to me.

Please disregard the previous 3 paragraphs, I need sleep, I am not thinking properly at all...

my schedule is usually mon thurs fri sat

at a local bar/restaurant on mondays is wing night but from 7-8 is 25 cent drafts then 8-9 is 50 cent drafts and 9-10 is 75 cent drafts and wings are 55 cent throughout that whole time period.

plus if you are in college you are suppose to have the responsibility to complete your work. You learn time management skills to do whatever it is that you want. Plus you are paying the teachers to teach you, if you dont feel like going to class no big deal other than you are wasting your own money, the teachers dont usually give a shit if you goto class or not.

In this thread: a bunch of kids who still think they are special rays of sunshine for drinking, and even more so, for drinking during the week. Frankly, nobody is impressed.

If you want to drink, do it, and if you don't, don't, but berating others for their choices on when and when not to is immature and entirely fucking douchey.

me and my friends play a sweet drinking game. It's called sit around a table drinking vodka until you're drunk.

I think people in college pay way too much attention to drinking. It's fun and all, but still. Right now on my study abroad, despite the fact that we are in london, a good 95% of the american students spend every weekend night in their rooms, with only other americans....drinking. IE exactly what they do at home. It's almost sickening to see, but whatever. They can drink with their friends from home and talk about home, but I'll talk heading out to a pub over that anytime.

uhhh exactly, which is why everyone's giving the OP shit, because he made a stupid fucking post to try to correlate his lack of friends or social life with being more successful or productive.

if anything it has to do with your specific schedule. a lot of semesters i couldnt ever drink on thursday, some i could easily.

really though on thursdays id usually rather chill out rather than get retarded, but variety is the spice of life

like woozy said, there are a million other things that you do that "waste time" or whatever, to think that because you dont participate in one specific one youre better at something else is retarded. it's like when people give someone shit for playing video games cause it 'wastes time" yet they watch 4 hours of bad tv every day.

give me a break. live your own life and dont try to rationalize your shortcomings by accusing 99% of college students of "not living up to their full potential."
