top secret ski designed by the same person who did the x-scream and the pocket rocket....

the ski shop i work for will be getting an early release of the ski sometime this season.. 7 pairs of the 80 that will be coming into the US.

"this ski will change the way people look at the sport"
this ski is so top secret that the rep wouldnt even give us the specs on it.

just wondering what other people have heard of this..

so not to hate on anyones parade, but the "V" shape tip has been used for a long time, with older skis. My moms old rossis have it. also its just a carving ski with some rocker in the tip, and overly shaped. It wont actually be cool at all. there is no way its that revolutionary. to me it seems like they are introducing rocker to old people, with really good marketing

My friend skied it the other week, he really liked it but its more suited for people who want an all-mountain one ski quiver type of thing for just going around the mountain, carves pretty nice, nimble through trees and pretty good in the chop apparently.

I just skied this today at the 7 Springs demo day, and I have to say it is fucking incredible. I am usually not a big fan of taking runs/testing skis, but I couldn't help taking a bunch of runs on this thing.... so damn fun. Once you get it on edge, it turns itself. Seriously. I had to do absolutely nothing, and I could carve 10000+ times easier than any other ski I have ridden. Now, I am not very used to traditional skis in the first place being the 90% park skier I am, but I almost would consider buying this just to rip around on.
SO. MUCH. FUN.

I skied them in Montana about a month ago, they ski really fast and agile. The shovel holds the float well and the shape follows. Not a ski I will buy but a ski that is def fun, was kinda like first time riding full reverse cambers.

the ski is good. it may not look like it, but it is a bit of a revolutionary design. there's definitely more than meets the eye. this is not a ski that probably anyone will buy from this site. however, it's a pretty awesome ski for about 90% of the ski world. it makes skiing a lot easier if you don't know what you're doing and brings a whole new level of fun to the table if you do know what you're doing. i think salomon did a great job with this ski. i look forward to seeing how it will sell next fall.

So its exactly the kind of ski a company would need to make in order to actually make money? I have no idea how this ski will actually perform, but I have a good feeling it would actually rip big mountain terrain anywhere that gets sub 600cm a season. For everyone? Nope. But will a lot more people buy this ski than pretty much any ski kids on newschoolers get all antsy about? Hell yes.

From the guy who designed the The Pocket Rocket ?  That ski sucked balls.  Foam core shit.  Just saying...  I realize that this ski isn't designed for a lot of people on this forum, but you couldn't pay me to ski that.  80's underfoot?  Well, maybe you could pay me to ski it, but would never consider buying that thing.  Hopefully, it has sweet edge armour.

The BBR skied well pretty much everywhere, but I didn't like it a whole lot at really high speeds. For cruising, it's awesome. They look really weird in real life. I don't know how well it will sell in the demographic it was designed for (dads, old people, dudes that ski 3 times a year, etc) seeing how these people usually like plain black skis that have a binding plate and look like race skis. For the people that are willing to open up their wallets for a blue sufboard-looking ski with neon yellow sidewalls, I think they will love it.

when the first thing the rep tells you, is ski back seat for these skis, thats when the first red flag come up.

They're alright. That's it, nothing special in my opinion.

i work in a shop... and the truth is that park skis and fat twin tips are maybe 25 percent of overall ski sales... i created this forum because i have interest in all skiing and the bbr is for sure something new and different, not necessarily trying to pump it up to the ns crowd. but for anyone working in the industry to dismiss any new tech or concepts at this point is just plain stubborn.

This really is a very new ski, it truley is the first ski that skis powder just as well as it carves. On piste it carves so well, the tail is really stiff so it wont suit many people on here  who like to ride there tails, but if you keep foward and have trust in the nose it really will carve. Powder wise its amazing, I tested out the shogun, sentinal, 2012 and rocker 2 on the same 25cm day and it felt really good. Best float I have ever got from a 89mm waisted ski. Its not a ski I would buy and I doudt many from this site will either but it will be one of the biggest selling skis next year. I mounted 18 pairs the other week for our demo fleet and they are all gone everyday, and the feedback is pretty much always good. Get out and have a try on it when you can

These are pretty widely available in europe already as far as I can tell, at least plenty of shops here have them. They seem like a good one-ski for the non-park skier. I wouldn't buy a pair but i reckon my dad would love them.

I just demo'd these skis today and they rode unbelievably well don't judge it by appearances it really could handle any terrain with smoothness and felt really smooth and stable at high speeds pretty much like a luxury car
