Question about usps

so i ordered an item off ebay. i realized it is of no use to me, this is cool, except they arleady shipped it before i could tell them to cancel the purchase. im wondering if i can just give it back to the post office, unopened, and say that i didnt order this, or "wrong address" and have the return to sender without me having to pay to ship it back
