i was just making a funny about the country boy thing. but soldiers have to go through intense physical and psychological training, becoming so disciplined that they obey orders without hesitation. i really, really don't think a gay dude is going to throw off their ability to do that, at all.
honestly this shit about it "distracting and creating tension" is so stupid. its encouraging homophobia, and heres the fucking truth: its not hard to get over!!! if you can train a soldier to kill without a second thought, i don't think its gonna be too hard to convince them to accept gays.
i watched a daily show (go ahead and make fun of me for it not being a good source of information, but the point is still valid) and they talked about an interpreter who was kicked out of service when they found out he was gay. the military is in desperate need of interpreters, but for some reason they think its more important that he wacks off to dudes than the fact that he was fluent in arabic. where the fuck is the sense in that?
