But does anyone know of any other rappers that have a good message and a sick beat, as in an actual positive, meaningful message? It seems like they're gettin' harder to find these days...

Seriously. 

When WuTang came out, shit was really lame- think BelBivDevoe and MC Hammer...  Then Wu turned shit upside down and literally made hardcre rap what it is today.  Before them, shit was all about dancin' and girls and chains and shit.  Nas was a close second in terms of bringing grimy street shit to the studio and their production was mind bowing at the time.  Still is on some tracks.  Even when Forever came out, the shit owned just about everything else at the time i.e. Puff Daddy's lame shit.   

They have a ton of good stuff out there, but the sheer number of members and all their individual projects and drug habits have no doubt led to some sub par shit over the years, but try not to hate.  Just dig deeper- the dope shit is there, I promise.

The reason wu tang is so good for me, is the raw uncut feeling of them. Wu Tang's lyricism is great, and I love Meth, Dirty, and actually, all of their voices. Something about them is just dope. If they aren't your thing, it's not like you don't respect rap's history, but maybe they just don't appeal to you. Music should be just as personal as anything else, and other people's opinions really shouldn't matter.
