take a closer listen to the lyrics, maybe read the lyrics or something online while you listen.
some of it may blow you away with the complicated rhyming sequences, and also the hyphy style is a plus.
but then again... there will always be people in the world with shitty taste in music. i will have to learn to accept this some day
lol. you dont make any sense. how did you come to the conclusion that i spend too much time on here? if the basis of your posts is assumptions, then you should stop posting. you sound like an idiot. oh the joys of watching people think they are winning, but miserably failing.
ok how about... you've been on the site for 7 months, have had 4 different names, 2300+ posts, now created an icon that follows another member of the site that you proclaimed to love, have made numerous complaints to mods about other members and have been lured into numerous "e-fights" including this one.
that good enough? only support this fact by trying to defend yourself. go ahead. you're worthless and have no clue. hahaha
i dunno rza beats are really good. the rimes are not half bad.. odb was the shit. i like them and have liked them for a long long time. so i dont feel i fall in the "fad" fan category. i love LOVE GZA Liquid Swords. 4 chamber. i can Se how in this day and age Wu is not as fitting with what is"in" but yeah listen to what you like... and to those fighting... calm down and change your tampons for crist sakes
i dont see how name changes have to do with anything? so thats irrelevant, idiot.
2700 is minimal compared to some other members.
didnt make the icon (assuming again), got it off the internet.
never said i loved arabian (just plain lying now).
how would you know i pm mods (which i have done once)? you're either making shit up, again, or you're a fucking creep.
arguing on the internet means i spend too much time on here? you are contradicting yourself you fucking idiot, what are you doing right now? jesus christ, the stupidity in your post is astonishing. you should stop posting...for everyones, but mostly your own, sake.
Listen to all of 36 chambers, Return to the 36 chambers the Dirty Version, Only built 4 Cuban Linx, Liquid Swords and Tical and then you'll know why they are so great.
Here are some "kewl" wu tang songs for you. The thing about wu-tang is that they are a whole group of rappers who mostly all kill it. They all have their separate shit going on but they come together and make colabs that are bangers too. I like most all music except for the shitty ass main stream rap coming out these days. Wu-Tangs got talent forsure. Also look into the Wu-Tang bible and it'll help you understand there music more.
the thing about wu tang is that really as "wu tang" there output really isnt that great. 36 chambers was a game changer but thats about it. its the solo records and the family of artists that sprung from the original group that is so important.
suburban white spoiled children wearing tall t's who think they are thug that make hand gestures because they saw t wall do it in a segment love wu tang aka 90% of NS
I've come to the conclusion that a few artists should simply be recognized as the best, in an elite group, that transcends genre. Wu-tang (specifically 36 chambers) is in this group.
I am obsessed with 36 chambers, and always will be. It was so progressive at the time, and remains to be an incredibly progressive album. The more you listen to it and research all the members side projects (especially rza gza and odb) you start to realize how incredibly smart they are.
Who else is going to form a group with 8 gangsters in New York who's main theme is a kung-fu movie. No one. Who else is going to embrace ODB's mental instability and insanity, looking past it for his incredible mind? No one but wu.
Now once thats aside, you also have to look at how 36 was recorded. RZA bought all the sound equipment, taught himself how to use it, and made all the beats from pretty obscure samples. Wu tang would just go into the apartment and blast out tracks.
Lyrically, 36 chambers is untouchable. Same with the beats.
I used to not like 36 chambers back in high school, but over the past year, I found the genius in it.
If you don't enjoy Wu, I really feel bad for you as you're missing out on some of the best music ever recorded. 36 chambers is and always will be the best hip hop/rap album to me. It really is amazing.
As for songs, they really are all incredible, but my favourites would be:
Bring da Ruckus, CREAM, Ain't nuthin to fuck with, Method Man, Protect ya Neck, 7th Chamber part 2.
I bought the album when I was 12 and never looked back. Other Wu LP's are good or mediocre, but 36 is just something completely different. I still don't actually know the correct lyrics 100% thanks to mishearing and my English not being so good at the time. But it definitely is a piece that you can always fall back into, much like The Slim Shady LP and The Infamous.
I just saw Wu live a few weeks ago at Rock The Bells. They did 36 Chambers in full in order. ODB's son took his place. I felt like it wa 1995 all over again.
I had the pleasure of hearing C.R.E.A.M. done by a few members at camp busco this year. Shit brought a tear to my eye.
And for their appeal, look at it like NWA... they get so ignant that they are ignorant of their ignantness which in turn, boosts their credibility on the streets.
And there is much more than just the music. Its the story behind it. RZA wrote a book all about the the wu and the shaolin philosophy that helped this group get through the everyday struggle of living in the projects. Listen to the lyrics. I find it all super interesting and their music is fuckin sick
Idk who you are or anything but almost 3k posts in 8ish months? Get a life. Look how long I've been on here vs. post count. YUP.
Btw back to OP.
Wu-Tang is my favorite musical entity because there is reason behind the things they do from their name to their philosophy. There is so much thought behind every lyric. Cash Rules...
They have their own culture and style, it doesnt appeal to everyone but it is unique and changed the face of hip-hop. The Clan helped to define the gritty east coast sound.
i'm gonna proceed with a big "fuck you" to you and the other dude who responded "lol" to his post.
i respect and enjoy listening to wu-tang just as much as the next guy. they're not my favorite, and not my least favorite. i understand many of their members deserve a place among rap's elite. personally, i think the mainstream, radio BS of today is a bit disappointing and ridiulous. sure, some of it is catchy, but there's no substance. but whatever.
however, the rappers he pointed out, while often not as lyrically talented or precise as wu has been known to be, aren't the worst of rappers, either. sure, cole and wiz produce mostly garbage (i'm a HUGE wiz fan, though) but nas, jay, and biggie all have their place in rap history just as much as the next guy. who are you to judge the kid or laugh at who his favorite rappers are?
i'm so sick of these people who think listening to underground or less-than-popular shit makes them some fucking holier-than-thou rap connoisseur. people like different shit. if he had said "soulja boy, justin beiber, and usher" ok...then maybe we question his taste in "rap". otherwise, give it a fucking break.
