With last week's exciting announcement from Nike 6.0 that the Breckenridge Dew Tour stop will now be known as the Nike 6.0 Open, it might have been easy to overlook the company's recent addition of one of the world's best snowboarders, Mason Aguirre, to their head-to-toe team.
While the public and myself may have let the news slip by relatively unnoticed, the company did not. Nike 6.0, who will this season launch a new outerwear line, wants to make sure their athletes feel appreciated and have gone to great lengths to make sure their team riders are stoked to be a part of the company. In addition to sponsoring team trips to places such as St. Anton or hosting team seminars with accomplished leaders, Nike 6.0 has also developed an ongoing marketing campaign with rapper RZA, formerly of the Wu-Tang Clan, to promote their riders.
RZA has already laid down rhymes for other Nike 6.0 athletes including surfer Kolohe Andino and BMX rider Garrett Reynolds; the latest installment of the freestyle rap series is dedicated to the snowboarder Aguirre as a fitting welcome to the crew.
"I'm stoked to be a part of the Nike 6.0 team and to have such a great brand backing me," said Aguirre.
