I forgot how to speak

I noticed the other day after I had finished doing some drawing and modeling for an architecture class in almost complete silence, I had trouble linking together a coherent sentence.  Is this just my brain in the process of switching form the right to left hemispheres? Is there a psychological reason, for that? or am I just crazy? Please no hate, I just thought it was interesting, and thought maybe some of yall would too.

what year are you in arch?

i'm studying the same and that shit has its wear and tear on the one's brain, sleep pattern, and coherent thoughts/verbal usage let me tell you. at least the hours and allnighters i put into my studio course :(

first year arch... I had just spent three or four hours in studio before I started stammering. and right now I'm putting off doing some more drawings, and starting to feel the stress

Sometimes when I'm super hungover, I struggle with sentences and with answering simple questions like "Would you like a cup of tea?"

It's pretty bad.

I just started commuting for my third year of college. I don't know too many people so i find myself hardly talking for the sometimes twelve hours that im on campus.

Once I go chill with my friends back at my town, the first few sentences i say feel kinda weird.

Basically, i agree with you.

I'm not surprised at all.

When I was studying for the GRE's and learning all the vocab, my ability to form sentences became worse and worse. I was forgetting simple words for things. Oh sure, you want to know what desiccate means but I can't think of the word freeway.

Although, for me it really didn't get that much better. I have a tendency to start a sentence. Then when I get to describing something that requires one of those vocabulary words, I have to sit there and think about which one. I suppose it will get better as I bring them into my vocabulary.. but its annoying.

But back to your deal, sounds like the same thing as my deal. Get so focused on having the brain work a certain way that it temporarily loses its normal day to day function.

part of brain that does speech production. not sure why it wouldn't work after lots of work. probably stress and constant scrutinization on something?

We learned about this in psych today. A common symptom, among others, of sleep deprivation, is difficulty in performing small tasks such as making a sentence.

how long are your studio classes? first years have 3 hour studio classes at my college, then second year and on is 4 hour classes.

i spent 12 hours in studio in one day during the second week. youll have fun then. it only gets better.
