Flat Tailed Skis!

I know twintips are all the rage with the young wippersnappers and people who never get to ski actual mountains, but there are still companies out their putting out phenomenal flat tailed skis. If you have some what do you ride?

And I'm not talking like 165 head BigEasy, I'm talking like 194 Rossi B-Squad, or 194 Faction Thirteen.

i noticed that alot of volkyl skis are super stiff and have flat tails this season..

I used to ride a pair of dynastar 184 pro riders for big mtn. But then realised was equally as fun if not more fun on my Ninthward rorys so i sold them

I had a pair of Faction Thirteens.  They are huge and stiff and straight.  With no camber/long early-rise tip I found that the factory mount was kinda forward, I should have mounted them 2-3cm back of the line. 

I sold them after I blew up my knee on them.  I rock 190 NGPs now.

only 2 reasons i'd ever buy flat tailed skis:
1) Slalom skis
2)if i get into ski-alpinisme/touring, where i require a light and technical setup that sometime requires me to insert skis tail first into the snow to make an anchor or something ....

Those Thirteens are BEASTS! I skied some protos of them a couple years back. No flat tails for me (yet) I use Wrenegades for my big mountain ski.

i come from a racing background (go figure huh) in which riding 215s with a 42m turn radius was normal for DH and i still have 2 pair of 193 gs skis. I did demo these and LOVED them... cant wait

I never had an issue with the length or the sidecut.  It was the lack of camber I didn't like.  The pair I had were almost reverse camber.

i used to use a pair of dynastar legends a year or so back for freeskiing. not sure the exact model. they skiied great, but twin tips are just too dam fun

192 Garbones are my charging ski.

Flat tail, stiff as fuck, and tip rocker ... what more could you ask for when wanting to haul ass at 60 mph through just about anything that comes in your path?

Prior to that, I was absolutely in love with the 194 Legend Pro (raceroom) from 06/07. Couldn't find a speed limit on them.

my 192 garbones don't have a totally flat tail but it is definitely not a twin

i loved the rc112 but i can't merit having them on the east coast

nah- still love twin tips, even for big mountain.  if you're in a tight space, and need to back up or something, twin tips are key.  if you want to try to ski something big switch, tts are key.  i guess i'm more of a "playful" skier than a "serious" skier.  i like to fuck around a lot.  i honestly don't think i would ever buy flat tail skis.  even my touring rig is tt-ed

I'm really not that playfull..but I do find myself in thight spots between rocks or trees to find some sick lines and then I like a twin or at least semi twin, just to go backwards for a bit, just easy..

flat tails make huge hucks easier. with my hellbents, theyre awesome pow skis and make it real easy to stomp a landing in shitty conditions, but with the bigger drops and airs all the rocker and tail rise makes them wheely out really easily if you know what i mean. With the flat tails its a lot more solid landing since the tails can just dig in and not kick out

my current quiver of pow skis is 179 hellbents(really 183), 181 coombas, and 177 s3 koopmans for the more varible stuff. Out of those, all though they are not very playfull at all, the coombas are by far the best in terms of just pure big mountain line ripping. I still probly ride the bents more often though becaues i like the huge amount of rocker and how playful they are for their size

Viciks having already purchased JBS....?  Practically the same ski....and very similar to the Wren, just smaller.  Seems like a serious overlap to me.  What's the deal?
