Last night, my good friend Bryant's camera equipment was stolen from his car in Montreal during / after the Newschoolers Awards. I was not in Canada myself, but this is a serious issue, as he now has no way to shoot. He made a thread in Media and Arts, but I figured Ski Gabber has more traffic. Please, if you have any information regarding this, let him now as soon as possible.


Thanks for your help; theft like this should not happen and it would be great to have the help of the NS community members that were at the event.

you dont know what you are talking about. montreal is a very good city but he was just not lucky and it could be someone that is not related to skiing so.... it could happen everywhere.

I live in Montreal, and I got my camera gear stolen too 3 years back. Never leave your camera stuff in the car, if you have to, leave it in the trunk, first thing to know when having camera stuff. If you were anywhere in the world, you should never leave valuable stuff in sight in your car.

Montreal is also very very sketchy at night because people are drunk and they do fucked up things. At ns awards last night, we walked out, and walking to the car that was 3 blocks away , we saw; 2 guys fighting and one of them got kicked in the face . 2 girls cat fighting in the stairs and cops trying to figure out what to do with a passed out dude on the side walk.

I think the person that stole his shit is probably not related to skiing so this tread is kind of useless. Best of luck to him anyways, I bet he didnt have insurance.

But hey, thats the way life goes, sometimes you have to experience stuff like this to learn. Get insurance, and never leave your shit in sight.

THIS SUCKS! Hopefully some knows what's up, Bryant Hughes is an excellent photographer and a super nice dude, it would suck so hard if he doesn't get his camera back.

I highly doubt he's going to get it back, it's probably been sold already.  I think it was two years ago someone's SUV was broken into and a ton of merch/schwag was stolen.  It sucks for your friend but I would just start preparing to not get the camera back.
