just wondering if anyone has a good workout routine that i can do from home. i have dumb belles and a chinup bar but thats about it. im looking to get rid of some fat and build some muscle. im looking for somewhere around 30 mins if theres a good one with less time thats fine and if its a bit over its ok. i just found with workout routines like p90x it takes too long and i cant get into it and then ill miss a day and not be able to start again. also im looking for a supplement to help me out thanks
Look up crossfit. It's a really good workout plan it will get you in the best overall shape of your life. The workouts don't go over a half hour usually too.
no worries man. they post their workouts online i think its crossfit.com. the whole idea is to do the workout as fast as you can. lots of fighters use it
didn't really read the whole thread. too lazy. but the best bet is you should buy a gym membership or just go there weekly if you are really commited. how heavy are your dumbells? and try the will smith chinups
i would go to a gym but #1 i wont be able to go consistently and #2 i dont feel like spending the extra money every month. and ive tried those chinups i can do exactly 0
crossfit is better than px90 but still not ideal if your rreally looking to put on muscle. bodybuilding.com is garbage. look at the forums in wannabebig.com, they also have some good routines up. but you need barbells for that. honestly if you can afford it get a gym membership, or if your in college/high school hit up the gym
well then, i have no other advice for you either than the ones posted above. p90x ect. if you aren't commited (which sounds like your not/no hate) you're not going to improve as much it's just a solid fact. you have to spend money and time in order to achieve a well sculpted body. let's kick it old school.
1) get a skipping rope. skipping is proven way more efficient than running, you will get better results.
2) pushups(pretty obvious)
3) leg raises(hold on to something behind your head if you're not strong enough, or just tuck your hands by your sides.
4) triceps: find a bench/chair/sturdy object that you can do a push up on. but preform a close grip push up (with youur hands touching together.
5) this is newschoolers not bodybuildingforums, there's probably a small amount of people on here who take weight training seriously. google work out routines.
If you are trying to get into shape for MMA youre going to need to focus on some of the muscles that boxers use, (if you plan to fight standing up a lot) we usually do Y pull-ups to work out our lats and we also work out our triceps and forearms.
+1 on crossfit but it takes awhile to build up to. Get a couple dumbbells and a resistance band and you can do tons of workouts at home, get a barbell and you can do even more, check craigslist for a barbell weight set for like $30.
Check the exercise lists on menshealth.com and put together your own circuit workout making sure to hit all your muscle groups.
drink a protein shake (slow release blend) before bed if you're really hitting it hard and aren't sure you're getting enough from your diet.
actually i forgot about my diet. its pretty shitty but i dont have much of a choice in that department. im 16 so my parents still cook and shit and neither of them are really interested in making me something specific or shopping for something like that. ill work on it a bit though
Crossfit is the best possible workout for mma. Pretty much all the guys on UFC use it I think. I did it for two months and gained almost 10 lbs of muscle. You don't need any gym equipment for it. They have crossfit trainers if youre interested in that. You could probably get it for like 30 a month. If you work out 3 days on and 1 day off, you will be in the best shape of your life, guaranteed. It worked for me.
My schools fitness trainer said that! he said that if you make your body think that youre doing a work out your body will lose weight and somehow gain muscle, it doesnt sound legit at all but i guess he was the fitness trainer for the new york jets last year
bump because im in the market for a routine again. can somebody link me to a particular crossfit workout that worked well for them? or any workout they liked?
