I had them a couple of years ago and really like them. If I had not bought them so short I would still be skiing them. The were definitely on the stiff side, but thats what I like. The only other ski in that all mountain category I have been on to compare them to is the kung fujas, the year before they were rockered. I felt like the Bridges charged way harder and were easier to handle than the fujas.

OK thanks, that is what i want, i dont do jibs, of park skiing, so a bit stiffer is ok, and this years model sounds fantastic, least of all a couple years ago.

i have the 08-09 ones and they kick ass, deffinatly a stiff ski. they carve like a race ski and they behave like a wild horse, but if you tame them. they will be your best friend.

they deffinatly arn't the best going switch but they work fine.

the new ones are completely redesigned and have elp rocker

flat camber then early rise in tip and tail

i really mounted mine too far back( +2 from boot center) i would go -2 from true center

ride the 08-09 ones and they are killer skis. super stable at high speeds, fun to ride switch and pretty good in the pow. a little heavy for jibbing is the only complaint but if your looking for a one ski quiver you cant go wrong

ha actually i would get them just cuz they have the rocker now. that seems to be the next big thing for every frickin ski now. but sounds like it works too so id go for it if u can find a deal on them, which could be hard to find

i just checked the Volkl website, i can get them for $150 cheaper, but i kinda want to help benefit our local distributer, i live in a small town

Hi. Anybody know anything about the build quality of the new Bridge. I have the last of the Karma’s and I just love that ski, it’s very much like the old bridge (which I skied in Austria), and the Germen build skis are super quality – but they moved the building of skis to China – so I think the new one is build out there. Has anyone tried them? The old Karma and the old Bridge are better all mt. skis than my Dynastar legends.

I was just looking at them in my store, and i'm pretty sure they say built in germany, I don't know if their chinese factory isn't tooled to build rockered skis or what. That being said, i'm a big guy, and I loved the old bridge, as I like fairly burly skis, something that will beat me up is ok with me, but I just don't think this new bridge is gonna ski quite as well all-mtn. From what i've heard, from a couple of guys that I went to a demo day with that did ski them, they felt dead compared to the cambered bridges, yet I feel like with the new design they should be fairly light and playful in pow

Volkl's high end skis are still MADE IN GERMANY!

The new Bridges are fun. I'm a big guy too and I loved the ski. It rips all mountain really well and the rocker keeps you on top of the chewed up shit. Getting used to the rocker is a little tricky right off the get go but after a couple runs you're used to it.

My friend demo'd the new ones and reckoned they had killed the ski, at least compared to the old ones.

The old ones were like, a twintip that could carve.
The new ones are much fatter, softer and rockered. Probably a way better 1-ski quiver if that's your thing but nothing at all like the old ones.

That was his take at least.

The old ones were really burly, forced u to.ski them hard, had a ton of backbone to bust crud, carved really hard, and were really poppy, making them killer for jumps. The new ones have very little camber, don't require nearly as much energy to ski and don't have quite as good of edging
