Books based on Novels

Whaddup guys?

For an english assignment I have to pick a book to read that has a movie based on it, so I can make comparisons and such. I've done some research and have a few ideas, but I'm curious if you guys know of anything good.

The book can be Canadian or American and written after 1975.
