Droidx vs droid2

which do you think is a better buy? droid x does have a bigger screen, better camera, and supposedly better battery life but the droid 2 has a keyboard... thoughts????

I have the original droid and got to play with the X for a bit. It's pretty big but I like that. I couldn't live without a physical keyboard but since it's so much bigger it might make the tradeoff worth it. My battery lasts 2 days with wifi and texting and I'm sure they've improved that in both phones.

yeah i got a droid 2 but with battery saver on and killing apps every 3 minutes my battery still only lasts half a day -_-

Depends if you want a physical keyboard or not.

I have the original Droid and it's pretty sweet but it really just depends if you want the physical keyboard since I fucking hate non physically ones I got the droid.

I've got the x. It is pretty big but I'm 6'2 so it really fits perfectly in my hand. Texting/typing is amazing with swipe. Its so fast and accurate. Half the time I won't even know how to spell the word and it will still come up. Battery life is good as long as you don't play with the phone constantly(hard not to do). Just using it as a phone it will stay up for a couple days but I normally have to charge it every night.

got the option of getting the droid 2 on its launch or the droid x by august 30th. Chose the droid x. havent regretted it since

I was just debating the same question with the Incredible thrown in there.

From what I would use a phone for I think Droid 2 fits my needs the best.  It has a physical keyboard and also has a touchscreen keyboard with swype where the x only has the touchscreen with swype.  Also, from what I read the battery on the 2 lasts a bit longer.  Since I'm not going to be using my phone as a multimedia center a lot of the functions of the X are not really necessary for me.  So I'm going with the Droid 2.

Yeah, I saw that you said that earlier...do you use it a ton?  Use the wifi a lot or do you use it 'normally'?  Just curious, cause I've heard longer battery life, but your experience seems to say otherwise.

I've been checking out both and i've decided im getting the X. The droid 2 is better than the OG one, but i still don't like the keyboard at all and prefer to use the touch one, or even learn how to use swipe, that shit looks dope. The X is massive, thin and fast as fuck, im stoked to get one.

i manage our corporate telecommunications as one of the many hats that I wear & i picked up some droid 2s about a week ago. after playing with them for a little bit, my main gripe is the screen size. i feel that the screen on the droid 2 is just a hair too small. the keyboard is nice, but unless you are dead set on having to have a keyboard, then i'd go the X as the screen, camera, etc are a little better.

i like my X wouldnt even consider going to the droid or droid 2

the X may be bigger in surface area (something that rocks for the screen) but its not a problem at all.

Yea i got the x, if you can get over its size, which imo isn't really that big, then it is hands down the best phone i have had. I get a solid 40-48 hours of battery life doing my day to day shit. I think this phone is great, and wouldn't trade it for anything else if i had the chance.

2.2 rounded out the o/s aesthetically. gave us flash support. a new car mode.

personally the 2.2 update is worth it. i just thought of those 3 improvements off the top of my head. wait for google to release a new OS version. I am expecting updates in the future to address the issue.


Droid X vs. Droid 2 is basically qwerty vs. non-qwerty


And...the droid x is a relatively large phone due to the somewhat massive ipad like screen going on.

android update 2.2 finally put an emphasis on a 1ghz cpu though. due to some of the upgrades, the original droid, g1, and eris seem to become overwhelmed by the androids ability to run so much shit concurrently. these phones come spec'd with 500-600mhz cpu's.
