re-wiring and install stereo

well there was a thread about how bad dBest Buy is and I totally agree. Although if you have a american car it is probably about $16 for the parts and the labor really is free, but american cars suck (exept for old muscle cars)
Although I bought mine at best buy, I was palnning on installing it myself anyway and I bought it there becuase it was teh cheapest and I have a gift card for $100. so I get it and I am thinking it won;t be that bad to install all the wires should just be there form the old stereo. but fuck i was wrong! my fucktarded stock stereo has a really shitted up way of wireing and there is only like 5 wired for all the speakers (4 postivies that go to each speaker and one negitive that goes to all of them) it is something fucked up like that. so now I am re-wiring my car speakers, and I have to say that although time consuming and technical it is prutty danm enjoyable when you've worked that hard on somthing and it finally works!
it is also awsome too beucase they are Infinity speakers and they sound so much better with a new head unit as opposed to a shitty old 80s tape head unit. one of the many reasons I am re-wiring them myself is becuase of how much it costs to re-wire your speakers from a 'profesional'. it is fucking $150 for a re-wire. the other reason is that 'profesionals doa shitty jod and arn;t very nice to the interior of your car as they are taking apart everything. now all I ahve to say is that: if your still reading this your as big of a dick as i am

ive never heard of having one negative linked to all your speakers. that could be a reason ur speakers sound do shitty. u should deff re wire them the right way and make sure which is positive and negative my using a 9 volt battery

alot of vehicles also use seperate mini-amps on each speaker which are best bypassed when adding a new headunit. which may explain the single wire setup. Rewiring does take time but done right it is very benificial for the sound of your new system since stock wiring and layout are really basic usually (getting much better now though) I have a whole system to install for a cig boat soon (3 amps, deck, 6spk and 2 subs) figure a pro install would be over $250 labour +parts...I'll do it for a case of beer and a few days on the boat. I hear ya, I just threw a new deck in the gf's truck. It was quite the abortion in there. I had a wiring diagram tho so it made it easier.

I have found now that if all you are upgrading is the deck from stock....its worth it to just buy the adapter online that goes to the stock wiring harness and then you do the connections to your new deck harness. everything is labeled much better so no crossed wires, and you can make all the connections outside the car where you have room (hands inside the dash is hard to do well) then just plug it all in. and only cost an extra $20..well worth the simplicity

ya but then you still have the shitty stock wiring. I am putting wireing in the trunk for a amp and a sub (and if I ever decideto spend/have them money I will get some sort of an amp and subs. probably nothing too large because for me it is really not worth the used trunk space
