yesterday i fell on my shoulder HARD skateboarding and this morning i found out that i need surgery on it. any ideas on how to spend the time? oh and im getting the surgery before the end of the month if that is revelant to anyone

- Quit skateboarding 3 months before the season starts
- Become the filmer
- Rehab/work-out or do whatever you can to get back on your ski's asap
- Learn to become a pro editor
- Make your own ski's
- Get a job and make a shitload of cash
- Troll on NS
- Start growing carrots
- Read books
- Play video games
- Start playing an instrument, if you haven't already
- Photoshop
- Drink Apple juice - I fucking looove apple juice
- Wax your ski's

They're not all very serious, but the first ones you might consider...

haha thanks christian. and i had a bad dislocation/mild seperation..i hurt my left shoulder and im left handed so no fapping. and once i can ski im gonna film and be the next eheath, only not fat. until then, im gonna work my ass off and save up for a macbook pro cause right now i have a 5 year old dell with 26 gb of music on it. im suprised i havent crashed it yet

i had a 2nd degree should seperation last year. it sucked. i wasnt supposed to ski for a month and a half. that lasted 3 days then i was out filming, then within 2 weeks i was hitting rails only. i would say ski, just dont do anything stupid

i had a grade 4 shoulder separation in january '09.  went to my primary care, then to an orthopedic surgeon, got the same diagnosis.  surgeon said i had to do pt for like 6 weeks, then decide whether or not surgery was necessary.

didnt do pt, went skiing 4 days later.  come on bro, boss up and deal with it.  its september...you got two months.  if youre not skiing on opening day, then you should probably just pick up knitting and soap operas.

haha, thats how its done. on a serious note how long did it take for your shoulder to feel normal again, if it even does. i dont feel a constant soreness anymore, but its definately not as strong as it should. i said fuck it to PT as well, but in hindsight i kinda wish i did it

nah dude i definitely should have done it, my shoulder is all sorts of mangled now and i can move my collarbone around pretty damn easily by poking around at it.  i cant throw a baseball too hard anymore, and it gets sore when i sleep on it for too long.

so nah, it aint normal yet, and probably wont be til i get surgery.  i was planning on getting it this summer, but i put it off and put it off til now, and i dont wana lose ski time, so looks like ill be waiting til 2011 haha.  its been almost two years now, but it probably took about 6 months to feel the way it does now, which is just about perfect other than the couple things i mentioned...and the fact that it looks like i got a baby hand poking out from inside my shoulder.  right on!

Eventually it gets old after you just keep getting re-injured over and over. Never stopped me from skiing but its pretty shitty when you can dislocate your shoulder by rolling over in bed. It hurts less every time you dislocated as your shoulder gets loser and more and more fucked. Finally got the surgery 4 weeks ago.

theres my saving grace...didnt dislocate it, separated it.

a dislocation, from what i understand, is when your humorous pulls out of your shoulder joint.  i know some folks who have done that, and surgery or not, its going to keep popping out over and over again because it weakens that joint.

a separation is when the collarbone separates from the shoulder.  no joint, just torn ligaments.  so it doesnt keep separating, because the damage is already done and there is no temporary fix that the body does ya for.  its just separated.  me, i tore the three ligaments that hold your collarbone down to the shoulder.  so its not going in and out, its just out and its out for good...unless you do some wild surgery that involved wiring that shit back together with drills and other sorts of things that seem to be far too similar to like, building a tree house.

granted, mine has loosened and my collarbone has moved further from my shoulder since the injury, but essentially, the damage is done and it cant really get any worse at a certain point.

still a bitch though.

I seperated my shoulder really bad playing football in school, almost had to get surgery, still have a permanent bump in my right shoulder because of it.

It really heals pretty quickly, you'll be fapping on the chairlift in no time.
