So I'm traveling to norway this fall over thanksgiving for personal reasons and most of my classes have policies about only being able to miss classes for school sponsored events and such. also most of them wont let me reschedule any tests or quizzes that i miss during this time. I was wondering if any of you have done something like this before in college and what did you do? I'm thinking about trying to talk to my dean about getting it school sponsored as a further learning kind of thing. anybody have any other ideas?
I've skipped days and I just make up excuses because teachers really won't follow through to check if you're lying. For instance, I'm skipping two days of classes for IF3, I told all my teachers I wouldn't be in class because I was on assignment to Montreal for the newspaper. Easy.
Teachers are usually pretty cool with you rescheduling the test, at least at my school. I missed 2 days last year to visit my boyfriend and my teacher let me take the test before I left. Just talk to the teacher directly about it and see if you can work something out.
how many classes are you missing? just don't even tell them you're gonna miss and email them after you do saying you were sick. get work missed. go to a doctor (like $15 copay if you're insured) when you get back. have them write an excuse. make up tests, quizzes and work and you're goooood.
yeah most of my classes are pretty lax about it but one or two of them are being a little more anal about it. one class says you have the syllabous schedule your shit around it and that they don't let you reschedule tests or quizes. the other just has a strict attendance policy.
college? if so......Its COLLEGE dude, don't worry skip and shoot them an email, theres nothing to worry about at all. You could skip 3/4 of the classes, and still do well
While thats true if the OP goes to a larger school, a lot of smaller school have really ridiculous attendance policies. My old school I could only miss three classes then automatic F. Bullshit if you ask me and made it seem like I was still in high school, if I can pass without going to class who cares sometimes shit comes up especially when your working a full time job and going to school
